Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh adanya kebutuhan perpustakaan untuk menjalankan pengembangan koleksi terutama koleksi fiksi dengan menggunakan alat pengukuran bernama tingkat keterpakaian koleksi dengan menghubungkannya bersama dengan minat baca siswa guna untuk memenuhi kebutuhan informasi para para pemustakanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji bagaimana hubungan antara minat baca siswa dengan keterpakaian koleksi fiksi di Perpustakaan SMPN 9 Bandung. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah para peminjam bahan pustaka koleksi fiksi dari bulan Juli-Oktober 2019. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan dalam pencarian data adalah 81 orang yang ditentukan dengan dibantu menggunakan rumus Yamane. Pengambilan sampel menggunkan teknik probability sampling dengan teknik Proportionate Stratified Sampling. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Skala pengukuran menggunakan skala Likert. Pengolahan data menggunakan bantuan Microsoft Office Excel dan IBM SPSS 21. Data diolah menggunakan rumus Rank Spearman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara minat baca siswa dengan keterpakaian koleki fiksi di Perpustakaan Sekolah SMPN 9 Bandung dengan kategori kuat hal ini berarti bahwa minat baca siswa mempunyai pengaruh yang cukup signifikan terhadap keterpakaian koleksi fiksi di Perpustakaan Sekolah SMPN 9 Bandung. ----------- Background of this research was one of library activities to develop its collection, including fiction. This activity had to be measured by measurement tool called usage collection level. The result was connected with students' reading interest to fulfill their information needs. This reseach aimed to determine the correlation between students' reading interest and fiction collection usage in SMPN 9 Bandung Library. Population of this research were fiction collection borrowers since July until October 2019. The sample of this research were 81 students those were selected by using Proportionate Stratified technique and Yamane formula. Meanwhile, method of this research was quantitative descriptive. The research data were collected by using questionnaire with Likert Scale, and processed by using Microsoft Office Excel and IBM SPSS 21 with Spearman Rank Formula. Based on this research, there was a strong correlation between students' reading interest and fiction collection usage in SMPN 9 Bandung Library. Students' reading interest has a significant influence to the usage of fiction collection in SMPN 9 Bandung Library.
