Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tiga poin penting yaitu 1) terdapat anak disleksia di kelas 2A dimana anak masih belum baik dalam segi kemampuan membaca pemahaman dan masih kesulitan dalam menulis, 2) kondisi perpustakaan sekolah sudah baik, tetapi pihak sekolah belum ada jadwal khusus untuk membantu anak disleksia, 3) penggunaan reading therapy masih sangat jarang di dalam jenjang pendidikan. Implementasi reading therapy menggunakan metode read aloud untuk anak disleksia merupakan sebuah metode terapi dengan menggunakan medium buku cerita yang berjenis longer picture book. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membantu meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pada anak disleksia. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode penelitian action research. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode purposive sampling dimana pengambilan sampel atau partisipan berdasarkan pertimbangan fokus tujuan penelitian yaitu hanya kepada anak disleksia. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, studi dokumentasi dan pertanyaan refleksi dengan partisipan penelitian satu orang peserta didik atau anak disleksia, satu orang informan guru wali kelas dan satu orang informan orangtua peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama dua siklus dengan menggunakan 5 fase bibliotherapy, dengan hasil penelitian yaitu adanya peningkatan kemampuan membaca pada peserta didik yang awalnya tidak bisa melafalkan huruf diftong menjadi bisa, yang awalnya mengabaikan kata penghubung dan awalan menjadi tidak mengabaikan serta peserta didik sudah mampu menjawab pertanyaan dengan level kesulitan sedang. Kata kunci: bibliotherapy, disleksia, kemampuan membaca. ------------ This research is motivated by three important points, namely 1) there are dyslexic children in grade 2A where children are still not good in terms of reading comprehension skills and are still having difficulty writing, 2) the condition of the school library is good, but the school has no specific schedule to help children dyslexia, 3) the use of reading therapy is still very rare in education. The implementation of reading therapy using the read aloud method for dyslexic children is a therapeutic method by using a longer picture book type medium. This study aims to help improve reading skills in dyslexic children. The research approach used in this study was qualitative with action research study methods. The sampling technique carried out in this study used purposive sampling method where sampling or participants based on the consideration of the focus of the research objective is only on dyslexic children. While, the data collection techniques used were observation, interview, documentation studies and reflection questions with the study participants one people from dyslexic children, one homeroom teacher as informant and one of parent’s as informant. This research was conducted for 2cycles using 5 phases of bibliotherapy, with the result f the study being an increase in reading skills in students who initially could not pronounce the diphthongs to be able, who initially ignoring the conjunctions and the prefix became not ignoring and the students were able to answer questions with a moderate level of difficulty.
