Abstract

Penelitian yang berfokus pada kematangan karir siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena kematangan karir siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas yang belum optimal serta belum memiliki keputusan karir yang matang sehingga dibutuhkan bimbingan karir yang efektif untuk mengembangkan kematangan karir siswa. Tujuan umum dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menghasilkan bimbingan karir yang efektif untuk mengembangkan kematangan karir siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen. Desain penelitian ini adalah non equivalent control group design dengan teknik purposive sampling. Metode dan desain penelitian ini digunakan untuk menguji efektivitas bimbingan karir untuk mengembangkan kematangan karir siswa dengan jumlah masing-masing kelas 35 orang siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol dengan membandingkan hasil pre test dan post test. Instrumen yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah instrumen kematangan karir. Uji coba instrumen meliputi uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa bimbingan karir efektif untuk mengembangkan kematangan karir siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas dengan adanya peningkatan kematangan karir siswa secara umum yang terlihat di kelas eksperimen pada setiap aspek kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil uji perbedaan rata-rata independent t-test dan uji gain. Dengan demikian, rekomendasi hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan kematangan karir siswa di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Driven by the excessive amount of phenomena of high school students who do not yet have optimal career maturity and clear career decisions about their future careers, therefore, the researcher decided to conduct a study that focused on the matter of high school students’ career maturity. This study was aimed to produce an effective career guidance program to develop the career maturity of high school students. In executing the research, a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method was employed. The design of this study was a nonequivalent control group design with purposive sampling as the sampling technique. The method and the design of the study were used to assess the effectiveness of the career guidance that was aimed to develop the career maturity of each 35 students from the experimental group and 35 students from the control group by comparing the results of pre-test and post-test. The instrument used in this study was an instrument of career maturity in which the validity, reliability and scale accuracy had been tested. The results of the research indicated that a career guidance program was considered effective to develop the career maturity of high school students by looking at the increasing level of students’ career maturity in general as how it was seen in every aspect of cognitive, affective and psychomotor of students from the experimental group. This also could be seen from the results of data analysis test by using indepedent t-test and gain test. Thus, the recommendations of the results of this study can be used to develop the career maturity of students in high school.
