Abstract

Kemampuan penalaran ilmiah dan sikap ilmiah siswa SMA masih tergolong rendah dalam proses pembelajaran biologi untuk itu perlu dicari alternatif model pembelajaran yang dapat mengatasi masalah tersebut. Model pembelajaran LOI dapat memberikan peluang mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran ilmiah dan sikap ilmiah siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh levels of inquiry (LOI) terhadap kemampuan penalaran ilmiah dan sikap ilmiah siswa SMA melalui materi pemanasan global. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode weak experiment dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Penelitian dilaksanakan di salah satu SMA Negeri Kota Bandung kelas X tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Data diperoleh dari instrumen lembar observasi implementasi penerapan levels of inquiry, soal penalaran ilmiah, dan angket sikap ilmiah siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan Microsoft Excel 2010 untuk melihat normalitas, homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Kategori penalaran ilmiah mengacu pada Wenning dan Vierya’s framework yang terdiri dari rudimentary, basic, intermediate, dan integrated. Indikator sikap ilmiah yang diukur ada enam yaitu rasa ingin tahu, mengutamakan bukti, bersikap skeptis, menerima perbedaan, mampu bekerjasama, dan bersikap positif terhadap kegagalan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa penalaran ilmiah siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan kategori sedang. Peningkatan paling tinggi pada kategori basic, sedangkan pada kategori rudimentary, intermediate, dan integrated memiliki kategori sedang. Kemudian pada sikap ilmiah siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan kategori sedang. Semua aspek sikap ilmiah siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan kategori sedang. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan LOI terhadap peningkatan penalaran ilmiah dan sikap ilmiah siswa kelas X pada materi pemanasan global.;--The ability of scientific reasoning and scientific attitude of high school students is still relatively low in the process of biology learning for it needs to find an alternative learning model that can solve the problem. LOI learning model can provide opportunities to develop scientific reasoning and students scientific attitudes abilities. This study aimed to find out the effect of implementation of levels of inquiry (LOI) on the scientific reasoning and scientific attitude ability of high school students on global warming topic. The research method used is weak experiment method with one group pretest-posttest design. This study was conducted in one of SMAN Kota Bandung involving the students at class X in academic year of 2017/2018. Data was gathered levels of inquiry implementation observation protocols, test on scientific reasoning, and questionnaire about the students scientific attitude. Data was analyzed using Microsoft Excel 2010 to see the normality, homogeneity, and hipotesis test. The category of scientific reasoning refers to Wenning and Vierya's framework consisting of rudimentary, basic, intermediate, and integrated. Scientific attitude indicators that were measured consists of six components, they are curiosity, evident priority, skeptic, respect differences, able to work in group, and positive towards failure. Based on the results of data analysis can be concluded that the students scientific reasoning has increased with the medium category. The highest increase was in the basic category, while the rudimentary, intermediate, and integrated category were moderate. Then on the students scientific attitude has improved with the medium category. All aspects of students scientific attitudes also improved with moderate categories. This indicates that there is an influence of LOI implementation on increasing scientific reasoning and scientific attitude of grade X students on global warming topic.
