Abstract

Skripsi ini berjudul Peran Ajip Rosidi dalam Mempertahankan Kebudayaan Sunda tahun 1956 – 2016. Latar belakang penulis mengkaji topik tersebut dikarenakan penelitian tentang kebudayaan dan tokoh Sunda sangatlah jarang bila dibandingkan dengan penelitian tentang kebudayaan dan tokoh dari etnis Jawa, padahal Sunda merupakan etnis terbesar kedua setelah suku Jawa. Masalah utama yang diangkat dalam skripsi ini adalah “Bagaimana Peran Ajip Rosidi dalam Mempertahankan kebudayaan Sunda tahun 1956 – 2016?”. Untuk menjawab pertanyaan tersebut, penulis menggunakan metode historis yang terdiri atas empat langkah yakni pengumpulan sumber (heuristik), kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Untuk mempermudah analisis, penulis menggunakan pendekatan interdisipliner dimana kajiannya menggunakan ilmu bantu lain. Adapun ilmu bantu yang dipakai penulis adalah ilmu sosiologi dan antropologi dimana penulis memakai konsep peran, masyarakat dan kebudayaan Sunda dan Permasalahan sosial. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, penulis menemukan bahwa pada tahun 1950-an masyarakat Sunda khususnya para pemuda Sunda mengadakan suatu konferensi yang dinamakan Kongres Pemuda Sunda dimana dalam kongres itu orang Sunda berkumpul dan mencoba memecahkan segala masalah yang ada di Tatar Sunda saat itu. Adapun masalah yang dimusyawarahkan dalam Kongres Pemuda Sunda seperti masalah keamanan, masalah “non” dan “co” dan masalah ketidakadilan terhadap orang-orang Sunda. Maka saat itu, Ajip Rosidi mengusulkan perlunya diadakan sebuah kongres untuk orang-orang Sunda. Peran Ajip dalam kebudayaan Sunda tidak hanya sampai Kongres Pemuda Sunda saja tapi setelahnya Ajip juga aktif dalam agenda kebudayaan yang lain seperti dalam organisasi kebudayaan, lembaga kebudayaan, masih aktif menulis dan masih menjadi pengamat kebudayaan sampai dengan sekarang. ..... This research titled as “Peran Ajip Rosidi dalam Mempertahankan Kebudayaan Sunda tahun 1956 – 2016”. The background of this reseach was because the lack of Sundanese culture and Sundanese figure research topics compare than Javanese culture and person topic research, even though Sundanese is the second largest ethnic grup after Java. The main problem raised from this research is “How Ajip Rosidi roles to defend Sundanese culture 1956-2016?”. In the process to answer that main issue, the author used historical research method that consists of four steps namely heuristics, critism of sources, interpretation and historiography. To facilitate the analysis, the author used the interdisciplinary approach. The other science that used in this research is Sociology and Anthrophology by using the ‘role’, ‘society and the sundanese culture’ and ‘social problems’ concepts. Based on the research, the authors find in 1950’, the Sundanese, especially the youth holding a congress that called Kongres Pemuda Sunda, in the congress they gathered and tried to solve a social problem which exists in Tatar Sunda that time. As for the problem they have discussed in congress is security problem, “non” and “co” problem and injustice problem for the Sundanese people. At that time, Ajip Rosidi propose to holding a congress for Sundanese people. So at that time, Ajip Rosidi suggested the necessity of holding a congress for the Sundanese. The role of Ajip in Sundanese culture is not only up to the Sundanese Youth Congress but afterwards Ajip is also active in other cultural agendas such as in cultural organizations, cultural institutions, still actively writing and still a cultural observer up to now.
