Abstract
This paper (creation undergraduate thesis), which is entitled “Waste Domino Effect as an Idea of Mixed Media Artwork”, aims to formulate the idea and concept description and also describe the visualization of the waste domino effect. Waste is a serious problem in life, not only it impacts humans, but also the entire living components in the world. The method used comes from the experience through the social life and environment’s observation and exploration; it is also driven by the internal stimulus and intuitive impulse, which evokes emotions when discovering the negative effects due to the waste. The aforementioned reasons bring up the idea, which later is expressed through a mixed media artwork. The artwork consists of five parts with different size, but they all are portrait-oriented. The five artwork parts follows distinguished concept and meaning towards one another, yet they all are related in delivering the long-term negative effects of waste. The message-delivering style has inspired to visualize the conceptual and philosophical concept in abstractive artworks; it is also a representative form with various colors using the impasto technique, in order to have a personal artistic symbol and other techniques. The artwork creating process is done by including several painting style in accordance of the poured expression. The result of the artwork creation is expected to: (1) build an awareness of how waste is a severe problem, and (2) become a reference to find new ideas and innovations in creating artworks.
