Abstract

Masalah demoralisasi dikalangan pelajar dewasa ini, harus diimbangi dengan pendidikan karakter, dalam hal ini yaitu karakter disiplin dan perilaku tanggung jawab sosial siswa disertai kompetensi kepribadian. Tanggung jawab sosial siswa yang rendah adalah dampak dari tidak berdisiplinnya siswa dan rendahnya keteladanan seorang guru. Sedangkan tujuan dari pendidikan adalah mengembangkan potensi peserta didik menjadi manusia yang berkarakter baik. Pembelajaran haruslah membentuk perilaku tanggung jawab sosial siswa yang baik sebagai modal sosial hidup bermasyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran serta pengaruh kompetensi kepribadian guru dan karakter disiplin secara langsung atau tidak langsung terhadap tanggung jawab sosial siswa. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP Daarut Tauhiid Boarding School Putra Kabupaten Bandung Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei serta teknik analisis data dengan analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa gambaran kompetensi kepribadian guru tergolong tinggi, artinya guru selalu mencerminkan kepribadian yang mantap, stabil, dewasa, arif, wibawa dan berakhlak mulia. Sedangkan karakter disiplin tergolong sedang, perilaku siswa tersebut sering taat, patuh, setia, teratur terhadap aturan sekolah dan tanggung jawab sosial siswa tergolong sedang, dimana siswa sering bertanggung jawab pada diri sendiri, keluarga, masyarakat, bangsa dan negara. Selanjutnya, kompetensi kepribadian guru berpengaruh positif terhadap karakter disiplin, kompetensi kepribadian guru berpengaruh positif terhadap tanggung jawab sosial siswa, dan karakter disiplin berpengaruh positif terhadap tanggung jawab sosial siswa, maka dapat dipahami bahwa model penelitian ini konsisten dan berpengaruh positif. Kompetensi kepribadian guru memberikan pengaruh yang besar atau kuat terhadap tanggung jawab sosial siswa jika didahului dengan karakter disiplin siswa.;-- The problem of demoralization among learners today must be balanced by the character education, in this case the character of discipline and the behavior of social responsibility of students accompanied by the personality competence. Low student social responsibility is the effect of non-disciplined students and low exemplary of the teacher. While the purpose of education is to develop the students’ potential to be a good character of human being. The learning should form students' social responsibility behavior as social capital in community life. The research is aimed to investigate the description and the influence of teachers’ personality competence and the character of discipline toward the students’ social responsibility. The subject of the research is Junior High School students of Daarut Tauhiid Boarding School, West Bandung. The research method used is survey and data analysis technique with path analysis. The results of this research show that the description of teachers’ personality competence is high indicates that the teacher always reflects the personality of a solid, stable, mature, wise, and noble dignity. while the character of discipline and social responsibility of students are medium, The student's behavior is often obedient, loyal, and organized against school rules, and student social responsibility is classified as medium, where students are often responsible for themselves, their families, communities, nations and countries Furthermore, the teacher's personality competence has a positive effect on the character of the discipline, teachers’ personality competence has a positive effect on the students' social responsibility, and the character of the discipline has a positive effect on the students’ social responsibility, it can be understood that this research model is consistent and has a positive effect. The teacher's personality competency gives a big or strong influence on students 'social responsibility if it is preceded by students' discipline character.
