Abstract

Badak Jawa merupakan salah satu mamalia terbesar yang kini populasinya sudah sangat kritis. Maraknya perburuan terhadap cula badak menjadikan badak sebagai hewan yang hampir punah. tingginya permintaan cula badak yang dianggap memiliki sejumlah khasiat dan bernilai tinggi, membuat manusia lupa akan keberadaan badak yang sudah sangat terancam. Penciptaan karya bertujuan sebagai sebuah kritik sosial. Dengan adanya fenomena tersebut penulis merasa prihatin dan terinspirasi membuat patung keramik dengan objek badak Jawa dalam beberapa pose yang menyedihkan. adapun tahapan dalam proses penciptaan dimulai dari mencari dan menemukan ide/ gagasan, kemudian dilanjutkan ke tahap observasi, pengumpulan alat dan bahan baik itu dalam lingkup pengetahuan maupun kekaryaan, proses berkarya hingga akhirnya menghasilkan karya itu sendiri. Melalui pegolahan terhadap unsur-unsur dan prinsip seni rupa dapat menghasilkan karya keramik dengan sentuhan nilai seni yang lebih artistik dan dramatis. Penulis menggunakan earthenware sebagai bahan utama pembuatan patung keramik. Adanya pengembangan terhadap objek badak jawa, sebagai bentuk ekspresi seniman dalam membuat karya seni keramik. Penulis tidak melakukan pengglasiran terhadap benda keramik agar memilki kesan etnik dan mengingatkan kita pada awal peradaban ditemukannya keramik dalam bentuk tembikar dan terakota. Adapun jumlah karya yang diciptakan penulis yakni berjumlah empat buah. Penulis merekomendasikan pembuatan sebuah karya seni yang dipengaruhi oleh faktor lingkungan dapat menjadi acuan sebagai sumber inspirasi dalam berkarya seni dan menciptakan seni yang didasarkan pada kepedulian diri terhadap apa yang terjadi disekitar kita.;--Javan rhino is one of largest mammals whose population is now very critical. The rise of poaching of rhino horn makes rhino as an endangered animal. The high demand for rhino horn which is considered to have a number a benefits and high value, makes people forget the existence of rhino that has been very threatened. The creation of works aims as a social critique. With this phenomenon, the author feels concerned and inspired to make ceramic sculptures with javan rhino objects in some sad poses. As for the stages in the process of creation stars from finding and finding the ideas, then proceed to the observation stage, the collection of tools and materials both within the scope of knowledge and work, the process of creating until finally producing the work itself. Through the processing of the elements and principles of fine arts can produce ceramics with touch of artistic value that is more artistic and dramatic. The author uses earthenware as the main ingredient in making ceramic sculptures. The existence of the development of the Javan rhino object, as a form of expression of artist in making ceramic artwork. The author does not classify ceramic objects in order to have an ethnic impression and remind us of the early civilization of discovery of ceramics in the form of pottery and terracotta. The number of works created by the author is four. The author recommends making a work of art that is influenced by environmental factors can be a reference as a source of inspirationin creating art and creating art that is based on self care for what is happening around us.
