Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana dampak peer group terhadap gaya hidup konsumtif siswa di SMA Laboratorium Percontohan UPI yang disebabkan karena adanya globalisasi dalam ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi (IPTEK). Globalisasi membuat batas-batas antar negara semakin menghilang sehingga kemajuan tidak hanya terjadi di bidang ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi akan tetapi di bidang ekonomi yang menyebabkan masyarakat menjadi konsumtif khususnya pada kalangan remaja. Gaya hidup konsumtif pada remaja cenderung beragam mulai dari fun, food, dan fashion. Pengambilan sampel yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini memakai teknik purposive sampling. hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa dampak yang dihasilkan dari adanya peer group terhadap gaya hidup konsumtif siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan ada beberapa faktor dan dampak dari adanya peer group terhadap gaya hidup konsumtif. Faktor dari adanya meliputi: dorongan diri sendiri, adanya uang untuk menunjang, gengsi, dan kekompaakkan. Sedangkan dampak dari adanya peer group terhadap gaya hidup konstumtif, meliputi: muncul perilaku hedonis, adanya kenakalan remaja pada kalangan siswa laki-laki, dan tentunya siswa menjadi lebih boros.;--This study aims to determine the impact of peer groups consumptive lifestyle students in UPI Pilot Laboratory Highschool which caused by globalization in science and technology. Globalization makes boundaries between countries are disappear, so that progress doesn’t only occur in the fields of science and technology but in the economy which causes society to become consumptive especially among adolescents. Consumptive lifestyles in adolescents tend to range from fun, food, and fashion. Sampling was conducted in this study using a purposive sampling technique. the results of this study indicate that the impact resulting from the peer group on students' consumptive lifestyles. Based on the results of the research that has been done there are several factors and the impact of the presence of peer groups on consumptive lifestyles. Factors of existence include: self-encouragement, the existence of money to support, prestige, and pumping. Meanwhile, the impact of the existence of peer groups on a constitutional lifestyle, includes: emergent hedonic behavior, the presence of juvenile delinquency among male students, and students become more wasteful.
