Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui berapa besar perbedaan hasil belajar sebelum dan setelah penggunaan media braking system stand dalam proses belajar mengajar mahasiswa Diploma 3 otomotif DPTM FPTK UPI pada kompetensi sistem rem cakram. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kekurangannya alat praktikum pada mata kuliah chasis otomotif khususnya kompetensi sistem rem, serta rendahnya nilai mata kuliah chasis otomotif mahasiswa Diploma 3 otomotif DPTM FPTK UPI. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian ekperimen dengan bentuk pre experiment design, dan desain penelitiannya menggunakan one-grup pretest-posttest design. Prosedur penelitian pada desain ini yaitu : kelas ekeprimen di beri pretest terlebih dahulu, kemudian dilakukan treatment dengan menggunakan media braking system stand, setelah itu di beri posttest. Sampel yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa Diploma 3 otomotif yang mengontrak mata kuliah chasis otomotif yang berjumlah 12 orang. Instrument yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu tes tulis yang sudah dilakukan pengujian oleh expert judgment. Hasil penelitian menunjukan nilai rata-rata pretest 39,50; nilai rata-rata posttest 83,20; dan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,72 termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa penggunaan media braking system stand dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar pada kompetensi sistem rem cakram. Pembelajaran menggunakan media braking system stand juga dapat meningkatkan penguasaan materi peserta didik, serta peserta didik menjadi lebih aktif karena dapat melihat komponen dan cara kerja dari sistem rem cakram secara keseluruhan.;--This study aims to study how much learning outcomes before and after the use of the media braking system stands in the teaching and learning process of automotive Diploma 3 students DPTM FPTK UPI on the competence of the disc brake system. This research is motivated by the lack of practical tools in automotive chassis courses specifically brake system competence, and the low value of automotive chassis courses in automotive Diploma 3 DPTK FPTK UPI students. The research method used was an experimental research method with a pre-experimental design form, and the research design used a one-group pretest-posttest design. The research procedure in this design is: the experimental class is given a pretest first, then treatment is done using a media braking system stand, after that it is given a posttest. The sample used in this study was an automotive Diploma 3 student who contracted an automotive chassis course that collected 12 people. The instrument used in this study is a written test that has been tested by expert judgment. The results showed an average pretest score of 39.50; posttest mean score of 83.20; and N-Gain value of 0.72 included in the high category, in this study also supports the research hypothesis with an associative type, where the results of the assessment of the coefficient values obtained by 0.708 and the coefficient of determination of 50.1%. This research proves the use of braking system media stands against the increase in learning outcomes on the disc brake system competencies. Learning to use the braking system media can also improve students' mastery of material, and students become more active because they can see the components and ways of working of the disc brake system as a whole.
