Abstract

Seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah pengguna smartphone, semakin modern pula perkembangan kehidupan masyarakat pada umumnya, tak terkecuali bagi mahasiswa. Perangkat smartphone sendiri sangat dimanfaatkan oleh mahasiswa baik dalam kehidupan sehari – hari seperti kegiatan komunikasi atau lebih jauh sebagai penunjang dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Adapun tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah mengetahui perilaku mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan Teknik Elektro FPTK UPI terhadap penggunaan smartphone baik dalam penggunaannya, pemahaman perangkat smartphone, pengaruh smartphone dan kebermanfaatan smartphone dalam menunjang proses pembelajaran. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 80 orang mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Elektro. Instrumen peneliltian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner yang menggunakan skala Likert. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa 68,75% mahasiswa menggunakan smartphone untuk kegiatan belajar, 63,75% mahasiswa mempunyai pemahaman tentang smartphone baik software maupun hardware, 88,75% mahasiswa mengakui bahwa smartphone sangat berpengaruh positif terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran, dan 80% mahasiswa mengakui bahwa kebermanfaatan dari smartphone dapat digunakan untuk menunjang kegiatan pembelajaran. Maka kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini adalah perilaku mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan smartphone sebagian besar digunakan untuk menunjang kegiatan pembelajaran. Adapun rekomendasi dari hasil penelitian ini yaitu diharapkan kedepannya sistem pendidikan dapat lebih mengoptimalkan perangkat smartphone sebagai media pembelajaran dengan lebih efektif. The purpose of this study is to know the student behavior of smartphone use in use, understanding of smartphone devices, smartphone influence and the usefulness of smartphones in supporting the learning process. The design of this research uses quantitative descriptive with a total sample of 80 students of the electrical Engineering education study Program. The study instrument used was a questionnaire that used the Likert scale. The results of this study show that 68.75% of students use smartphones for learning activities, 63.75% of students have an understanding of both software and hardware smartphones, 88.75% of students acknowledge that smartphones are very Positive influence on learning activities, and 80% of students acknowledge that the usefulness of smartphones can be used to support learning activities. The conclusion of this research is that the student behaviour of smartphone use is mostly used to support learning activities. The recommendation from the results of this research is expected in the future education system can optimize the smartphone device as a medium of learning more effectively.
