Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan menulis permulaan huruf cetak siswa kelas I di salah satu SD kota Bandung. Rendahnya kemampuan menulis permulaan huruf cetak in dikarenakan metode yang diberikan guru belum memfasilitasi kemampuan menulis permulaan. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, peneliti mengatasinya dengan menerapkan metode drill. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan penerapan metode drill untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan huruf cetak siswa kelas I di salah satu SD kota Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang dilaksanakan dengan dua siklus. Subjek penellitian ini adalah 30 siswa kelas I di salah satu kota Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, tes, dan studi dokumentasi. Data kualitatif diolah melalui prosedur pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Sedangkan data kuantitatif diolah melalui analisis skor hasil tes, nilai rata – rata kelas, persentase ketuntasan kemampuan menulis permulaan huruf cetak. Pada siklus I mencapai nilai rata – rata siswa sebesar 73.8 dengan persentase kelulusan 65% dan pada siklus II mendapatkan nilai rata – rata 88.3 dengan persentase 96%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran harus didahului dengan menyusun RPP yang mengacu pada Permendikbud No. 22 Tahun 2016 dan pembelajaran mengikuti langkah metode drill. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penerapan metode drill dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis permulaan huruf cetak siswa kelas I di salah satu SD kota Bandung. Abstract: This research is based on how low students’ ability of writing the beginning of printed letters on first grade students in a elementary school in Bandung. Low ability to write the beginning of printed letters because the method that was given by the teacher has not fasilitated the beginning of the writing. The aim of this research is to investigate the implementation of drill method. The method is used to increas the ability of wriring printedletters on first grade students in a elementary scholl in Bandung. The method used in this research was Classroom Action Research (CAR) model designed by Kemmis and Mc.Taggart, used with two cyscles. The subject of this research were 30 first grade students in a elementary school in Bandung. Data collection technique used in this resarch were observation, test, and documentation study. Qualitative data were processing through procedures data collection, data reduction, data persentation, and concluding. While in this research the quantitative data were processing through statistics analysis result of the score, average score, the percentage of complition in the write the beginning of printes letters. In the cycles one reach the average scores at 73.8 with percentage of graduation is 65% to the cycle two that avarge is 96%. Based on the result, studies should be started with learning implementation plans that refers to Permendikbud No. 22 Thn. 2016. From this research, it can be concluded that the implementation of Drill Method can improve writing printed letters on first grade students in elementary school in Bandung.
