Abstract

Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan menghasilkan bahan ajar berbasis Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) untuk mewujudkan kompetensi ESD pada siswa kelas VIII SMP melalui pembelajaran matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode research and development tetapi lebih ditekankan pada proses pendesainan pengembangan menggunakan metode Borg and Gall. Tahapan penelitian terdiri dari: tahapan pengumpulan informasi, tahapan perencanaan, tahapan pengembangan produk, serta tahapan validasi dan uji coba. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Subjek penelitian dibagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok ujicoba terbatas terdiri dari 5 siswa dan ujicoba lapangan terdiri dari 36 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) muatan aspek ESD dalam bahan ajar masih minim sehingga diperlukan desain bahan ajar yang memuat tujuan ESD (2) proses pendesainan bahan ajar harus memuat permasalahan ekonomi, lingkungan dan sosial dalam matematika (3) penerapan bahan ajar berbasis ESD membuat siswa lebih aktif dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran di kelas, serta dapat memunculkan sikap solidaritas dan tanggungjawab yang menjadi salah satu tujuan ESD (4) pencapaian hasil belajar siswa menggunakan bahan ajar ESD dilihat dari bentuk jawaban siswa yang sudah mengaitkan matematika dengan tujuan ESD, juga dari nilai rata-rata kelas yang mencapai nilai 7,6.;-- This research and development aims to produce Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) -based teaching materials to realize ESD competency for students of class VIII SMP through learning mathematics. The research method used is the method of research and development but is more emphasized in the process of designing the development using the Borg and Gall method. The research stages consist of: stages of information gathering, planning stages, stages of product development, as well as stages of validation and testing. Data analysis using descriptive analysis. The research subjects were divided into two groups, the limited trial group consisted of 5 students and field trials consisted of 36 students. The results showed (1) the content of ESD aspects in teaching materials was still minimal so that the necessary design of teaching materials that contained the objectives of ESD (2) the process of designing instructional materials must contain economic, environmental and social problems in mathematics (3) the application of ESD-based teaching materials make students more active in carrying out learning in the classroom, and can bring up the attitude of solidarity and responsibility which is one of the goals of ESD (4) achievement of student learning outcomes using ESD teaching materials seen from the average that reaches a score of 7.6.
