Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan karena rendahnya kemampuan literasi sains siswa di kelas V Sekolah Dasar (SD). Hal tersebut terjadi karena proses pembelajaran IPA yang tidak memperhatikan aspek-aspek IPA sebagai proses, IPA sebagai produk, dan IPA sebagai sikap ilmiah. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka peneliti menerapkan model Project Based Learning (PjBL) agar dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas model dari Kemmis dan Taggart yang dilaksanakan sebanyak dua siklus. Subjek penelitian merupakan 30 orang siswa kelas V di salah satu Sekolah Dasar (SD) yang ada di Kecamatan Sukajadi. Teknik pengolahan datanya berupa menghitung keterlaksanaan kegiatan guru dan siswa, setiap aspek literasi sains, menghitung penilaian proyek siswa, rata-rata nilai, dan ketuntasan belajar siswa. Kesimpulan secara umum dari penelitian ini adalah model PjBL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan literasi sains siswa kelas V SD. Kesimpulan secara khusus adalah 1) penerapan model PjBL telah terlaksana dengan baik dan setiap tahapannya dilakukan dengan sistemati, 2) kemampuan literasi sains meningkat terlihat dari perolehan rata-rata nilai hasil evaluasi yaitu pada data awal sebesar 52,3, rata-rata siklus I sebesar 71, dan rata-rata siklus II sebesar 83,6.-- The research was carried out because it's lower in the literacy of science students in class V elementary school (in elementary school.). It happens because the process of learning science do not pay attention to aspects of science as the process, science as a product, and science as a science. Based on the issue, the researchers applied the model of Project Based Learning (PjBL) in order to improve the literacy of science students. The research method is carried out research a class action model of Kemmis and Taggart was carried out as much as two cycles. The subject of research is 30 students a class V at one elementary school (in elementary school.) is Sukajadi. The data processing it in the form of calculating the feasibility of teachers and students, every aspect of literacy in science, math assessment of the students, average score, and exhaustiveness student learning. The conclusion of the whole of this research is a model PjBL can increase the literacy of science student's grade V of elementary school. This is a particularly 1) of the implementation of the model PjBL have gone well and every stage done by sistemati, 2) the ability of literacy in science increases seen from the average value of evaluation which is in the preliminary data by 52, 3, the average cycle I amounting to 71, and the average cycle II of 83, 6.
