    Abstract

    Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis keterbacaan buku pelajaran Tendances A1. Buku pelajaran yang tidak sesuai dengan tingkatan peserta didik dapat memengaruhi kualitas pembelajaran, keterbacaan merupakan kunci dari baik tidaknya sebuah buku pelajaran. Setiap Universitas memiliki standar untuk memilihi buku teks yang dijadikan bahan ajar. Penelitian ini berfokus pada bagaimana keterbacaan buku pelajaran Tendance A1 oleh mahasiswa di salah satu universitas di Indonesia dan mendeskripsikan kelas kata yang berpengaruh terhadap keterbacaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian campuran dengan pendekatan convergent design. Data diperoleh dari tiga buah teks yang diambil dari buku Tendance A1 dan dianalisis melalui uji rumpang Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa dari ketiga teks tidak ada satupun teks yang berkategori tinggi atau unassisted. Teks 1 berkategori sedang atau instructional, assisted reading. Sedangkan, untuk teks 2 dan 3 berkategori sama yaitu rendah atau frustrasion level. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa keterbacaan berhubungan dengan tingkat penguasaan kosa kata peserta didik.;--- The purpose of this study was to analyze the readability of the A1 Tendances textbook. Textbooks that are not in accordance with the level of learners can affect the quality of learning, readability is the key to whether or not a textbook is good. Each University has a standard for selecting text books that are used as teaching material. This study focuses on how readability of A1 Tendance textbooks by students at one of the universities in Indonesia and describes the word class that affects readability. This study uses a mixed research design with a convergent design approach. The data were obtained from three texts taken from the Tendance A1 book and analyzed through a cloze test. The results of the analysis showed that of the three texts there was not a single text that was high or unassisted. Text 1 is a medium or instructional, assisted reading. Meanwhile, for text 2 and 3 the same category is low or frustrasion level. This study confirms that readability relates to the level of vocabulary mastery of students.
