Abstract
Abstrak: Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang dibuktikan oleh penelitian yang dilakukan oleh PISA. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dengan pendekatan konvensinal terhadap tingkat kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Non-Equivalent Control Group Desaign. Dengan instrument tes berupa soal pretest dan posttest yang didalamnya merupakan indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah diantara menunjukkan pemahaman masalah, merumuskan masalah matematika atau menyusun model matematika, Menerapkan strategi untuk menyelesaikan berbagai masalah (sejenis atau masalah baru) dalam atau luar matematika, menyelesaikan model matematika dan masalah nyata, menjelasakan atau menginterpretasikan hasil sesuai masalah awal. Pengolahan data dan analisis menggunakan data kuantitatif dengan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji T, dan uji N-Gain. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah memiliki skor N-Gain 67% yang berarti cukup efektif dan pendekatan konvensional memiliki skor N-Gain 30% yang berarti tidak efektif. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konvensional. Dapat disimpulkan, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education lebih tinggi daripada siswa siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan konvensional.Kata Kunci : kemampuan pemecahan masalah, pendekatan realistic mathematics education, pendekatan konvensional Abstract: This research is motivated by the low level of students' mathematical problem solving abilities as evidenced by research conducted by PISA. The study aims to determine the differences in the Realistic Mathematics Education approach with conventional approaches to the level of mathematical problem solving abilities of elementary school students. The research method used was quasi-experiment with the design of the Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. With the test instrument in the form of pretest and posttest questions in which is an indicator of problem solving ability between showing understanding of problems, formulating mathematical problems or compiling mathematical models, applying strategies to solve various problems (similar or new problems) in or outside mathematics, completing mathematical models and problems real, explain or interpret the results according to the initial problem. Data processing and analysis using quantitative data with normality test, homogeneity test, T test, and N-Gain test. The results of the study show that the Realistic Mathematics Education approach in improving problem solving skills has a 67% N-Gain score which means it is quite effective and the conventional approach has a 30% N-Gain score which means it is not effective. This shows that there are significant differences in mathematical problem solving abilities between students who get learning with the Realistic Mathematics Education approach and students who get learning using conventional approaches. It can be concluded, the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who obtain learning with the Realistic Mathematics Education approach are higher than students who obtain learning with conventional approaches.Keywords: problem solving ability, Realistic Mathematics Education approach, conventional approach.
