Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mecari hubungan antara perhatian orang tua dalam kegiatan belajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa. Perhatian orang tua dalam kegiatan belajar adalah partisipasi dari orang tua terhadap kegiatan belajar anaknya dalam bentuk pemberian bimbingan belajar, pengawasan terhadap belajar anak, pemberian penghargaan dan hukuman, pemenuhan fasilitas belajar anak, menciptakan suasana belajar yang tenang dan nyaman, serta memperhatikan kesehatan anak. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SD Negeri di Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode korelasional product moment. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 110 siswa kelas V. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa korelasi antara perhatian orang tua dalam kegiatan belajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar sebesar 0,349 signifikan pada p 0,00 < 0,05. Angka yang didapatkan menunjukan bahwa terdapat korelasi positif antara perhatian orang tua dalam kegiatan belajar dengan prestasi belajar siswa, kategori hubungannya berada pada tingkat yang rendah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut diharapkan adanya kerjasama antara pihak guru dan orang tua dengan memperhatikan proses belajar anak baik di rumah maupun di sekolah. The purpose of the research is to seek the relation between parental attention in student academic activies and student learning achievement. This parental attention in learning activates is the parents’ involvement toward their child’s learning progress in forms of giving parental guidance, giving parental supervision, giving praise and punishment, providing student needs, maintaining a supportive environment for learning, and caring to their health. This research was established at one of Elementary Schools in Bandung. This research used product moment correlation method. The sample of data were taken from 110 fifth grade students. The result shows that the number correlation of parental attention in student academic activity and student learning achievement were 0,349 which is significant at p 0,00 < 0,05. This numbers indicated that there is positive correlation between parental attention in student academic activity and student learning achievement, which the category is at lower stage. From the result, the researcher hopes that there is a cooperation between teacher and parents to paying attention to student learning activity at home and at school.
