Abstract
Tipe pohon filogenetik bracket dan diagonal dapat mempengaruhi penguasaan konsep siswa, tapi sejauh mana jenis pohon filogenetik tersebut mempengaruhi penguasaan konsep belum diketahui dengan jelas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efektivitas penggunaan pohon filogenetik tipe bracket dan diagonal dalam pembelajaran materi klasifikasi tumbuhan berbiji. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di salah satu SMA Negeri di kota Bandung dengan menerapkan dua tipe pohon filogenetik pada dua kelas eksperimen berbeda yang diambil secara acak sebagai sampel. Metode penelitian ini adalah pra eksperimen dengan desain penelitian alternative treatment tes-only with nonequivalent groups design. Penguasaan konsep siswa pada kedua kelas eksperimen terhadap jenis pohon filogenetik didapatkan dari hasil tes. Sedangkan tanggapan siswa diambil dari hasil angket respon skala Likert. Berdasarkan hasil angket, siswa memberikan tanggapan positip terhadap penggunaan pohon filogenetik, baik jenis bracket dan diagonal. Hasil data tes diolah menggunakan software SPSS. Hasil menunjukan bahwa penguasaan konsep siswa pada kelas eksperimen 1 (bracket) sebanyak 76% siswa mencapai KKM dan kelas eksperimen 2 (diagonal) 48% siswa mencapai nilai KKM. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa pohon filogenetik tipe bracket lebih efektif digunakan. ;--Bracket and diagonal phylogenetic tree’s styles could influence conceptual comprehension of students. However, the degree of phylogenetic tree influencing student’s conceptual comprehension remains unclear. This study aims to analyze the effectivity on the use of phylogenetic tree’s bracket and diagonal styles in seed plant’s classification material learning. This study was conducted in a state senior high school in Bandung, by applying the two styles of phylogenetic tree on two different experiment classes which were selected randomly as the sample. The research’s method was pre-experiment, with alternative treatment post-test-only with nonequivalent groups design. The students’ conceptual comprehension of two experiment classes on phylogenetic tree styles was taken from tes results. Meanwhile, students’ responses were taken from the result of response Likert scale’s response questionnaire . Based on the result of response questionnaire, students gave positive responses on the use of phylogenetic tree, both bracket and diagonal styles. The result of tes data were processed by using SPSS software. This study found that students’ conceptual comprehension on experiment class 1 (bracket) is causing 76% of the students meet the minimum score requirement, while experiment class 2 is only 48%. These findings show that bracket style of phylogenetic tree is more effective to use.
