Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan karakter peserta didik yang tercermin dalam perilaku atau sikap yang kurang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan karakter kewarganegaraan (civic disposition) peserta didik pada pembelajaran Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan. Value Clarification Technique (VCT) sebagai alternatif dalam pembelajaran nilai di sekolah dasar yang menekankan pada proses klarifikasi nilai yang di dalamnya memuat kegiatan penilaian (valuing) yaitu mencakup memilih (choosing), menghargai (prizing), dan bertindak (acting). Value Clarification Technique (VCT) merupakan sebuah teknik pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada pembentukan sikap diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif untuk meningkatkan aspek afektual (karakter) peserta didik melalui Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan yang syarat akan misi pendidikan nilai. Penelitian ini menggunakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas adaptasi model Kemmis dan Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Value Clarification Technique (VCT) dapat meningkatkan karakter kewarganegaraan (civic disposition) peserta didik.--This research was carried out in the fourth grade class of elementary school based on character problems of students which is reflected in unfavorable attitudes. This reasearch is aiming to improve the character of citizenship (civic disposition) of students on learning civic education. Value Clarification Technique (VCT) as an alternative value education in primary school that emphasizes value clarification process which contains valuing activities that includes choosing, prizing, and acting. Value Clarification Technique (VCT) is a technique of teaching that orientated to character building is expected to be an alternative to improve the affective aspects (character) of students through Civic Education which is about the mission of value education. This research employed Classroom Action Research adapted model from Kemmis and Taggart which is carried out in two cycles. Data collection was done through observation, interview, and field notes. The result of research shows that Value Clarification Technique (VCT) can improve the character of citizenship (civic disposition) of students.
