Abstract

ABSTRSAK Kurang sempurna jika membahas masalah pendidikan belum berbicara tentang guru, karena figur yang satu ini sangat menentukan maju mundurnya pendidikan. Dalam kondisi yang bagaimanapun guru tetap memegang peran penting, demikian halnya dalam kemajuan IPTEK dan perkembangan global.Eksistensi dan peran guru tidak seluruhnya dapat digantikan dengan teknologi. Bagaimanapun canggihnya komputer, tetap saja bodoh dibandingkan guru, karena komputer tidak dapat diteladani, bahkan bisa menyesatkan jika penggunaannya tanpa ada kontrol. Fungsi kontrol ini pulalah yang memposisikan figur guru tetap penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) memahami konsep guru menurut para pimpinan pondok pesantren di Kabupaten Indramayu, 2) mengetahui persepsi para pimpinan pondok pesantren di Kabupaten Indramayu mengenai kiprah guru jika ditinjau dari harapan dan kenyataan, 3) mengetahui kualifikasi akademik guru ideal menurut pimpinan pondok pesantren di Kabupaten Indramayu, 4) mengetahui kualifikasi kepribadian guru ideal menurut pimpinan pondok pesantren di Kabupaten Indramayu. Agar peneliti mendapatkan data yang sesuai, maka penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif analisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dan data dalam penelitian ini didapat dari hasil wawancara, observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa dari keempat kompetensi profil guru ideal yang coba dicetuskan oleh pemerintah, ternyata keempatnya sesuai dengan kriteria profil guru ideal dalam persepsi pimpinan pondok pesantren di Kabupaten Indramayu. Kemudian kiprah guru di lapangan dalam persepsi pimpinan pondok pesantren di Kabupaten Indramayu masih terdapat kesenjangan antara harapan dan kenyataannya. Kata Kunci : Guru, ideal, persepsi, pimpinan pondok pesantren ABSTRACT Discussing an education matter without attaching teacher concerns is a mistake since this one figure has an essential role in determining the growth of education. In any condition, teachers will take their position as vital as the advancement of IPTEK/ Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Teknologi (Sciences and Technology) and the global development are positioned. The existence and the role of the teachers are not interchangeable with any sophisticated computers. The teachers are figures to model and have controls beyond the computer misleading system. Therefore, this function of controlling contributes to the urgency of the role of teachers. This study aims: 1) to grab a comprehension of the concept of teacher according to the headships of pondok pesantren (Islāmic boarding schools) in the District of Indramayu; 2) to find out the perspectives of the headships of pondok pesantren in regard with the pace of the teachers by considering the expectation and the reality of the school; 3) to catch on the ideal academic qualification of the teachers in the perspectives of the headships of pondok pesantren in the District of Indramayu; and 4) to discover the ideal personality qualification of the teachers in the perspectives of the headships of pondok pesantren in the District of Indramayu. To get the corresponding data, this study used descriptive analysis along with qualitative approach. The data was collected by interviews, observation, and documentation studies. The results of the field study show that the four ideal competences of the teacher initiated by the government are corresponding to the ideal criteria for the teacher in the perspectives of the headships of pondok pesantren in the District of Indramayu. Moreover, the pace of the teacher is found to be in a discrepancy between the expectation and the reality of the school in practice in the perspectives of the headships of pondok pesantren in the District of Indramayu.
