Abstract
Kemampuan memahami konsep dan keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah adalah kemampuan siswa untuk membangun pengetahuan dan kemampuan mengomunikasikan pengetahuan dengan baik. Namun sayangnya masih banyak siswa yang belum memahami konsep dan keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran peningkatan kemampuan memahami konsep dan komunikasi ilmiah siswa setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran introduction, connection, application, reflection, extention (ICARE) menggunakan multi representasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasy experiment dengan desain control group pretest-posttest design. Instrumen berupa tes kemampuan memahami konsep dan keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah. Sampel dari penelitian ini adalah dua kelas dari keseluruhan kelas XI MIA Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Purwakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukan peningkatan kemampuan memahami konsep pada kelas yang menerapkan model ICARE menggunakan multi represntasi berada pada kategori sedang dengan perolehan <g> sebesar 0,51. Hasil uji t menunjukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara peningkatan kemampuan memahami konsep pada kelas yang menerapkan model ICARE menggunakan multi representasi dibandingkan dengan kelas yang menerapkan model ICARE. Begitupun pada aspek keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah, terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan yakni pada kategori sedang pada keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah kelas yang menerapkan model ICARE menggunakan multi representasi. Secara keseluruhan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model ICARE menggunakan multi representasi dapat meningkatkan kemampuann memahami konsep dan keterampilan komunikasi ilmiah pada konsep elastisitas.;---The ability to understanding the concept and scientific communication skill is the ability of students to construct the meaning of the message coveyed and ability to scientific communication well. But in fact, there are still many students who understand the concept well. This study aims to get an overview of the application of ICARE model by using multi representation to enhance the capacity of understanding elasticity concept and communication scientificskills in student of islamic senior high school. Samples in this research were two of XI MIA classes in islamic senior high school at Purwakarta. The research instrument used is enhance the capacity of understanding elasticity concept and scientific communication skill test. Analysis of the research data using t test. Research design used is control group pretest-postest. The results of this study indicate an increase in enhance the capacity of understanding elasticity concept and scientific communication skills. The category <g> of enhance the capacity of understanding elasticity concept in ICARE model using multi representation is 0,51. The result of t test show the significant difference between the increase of enhance the capacity of understanding elasticity concept in ICARE model using multi representation than ICARE model. The increase of the scientific communiacation skill in medium category. The result of oral scientific skill at ICARE model using multi reprensentasi show high result than ICARE model. It can be concluded that the implication can improve enhance the capacity of understanding elasticity concept and communication scientificskills in student of islamic senior high school.
