Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan prototipe virtual laboratory pada topik penurunan tekanan uap larutan (VL-PTUL). Virtual laboratory digunakan untuk membangun konsep dan keterampilan proses sains siswa kelas XII Sekolah Menengah Atas di Kabupaten Sumedang. Selain itu, informasi mengenai karakteristik, kekuatan, dan kelemahan dari prototipe VL-PTUL yang dikembangkan juga dikumpulkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research & Development dengan uji coba terbatas. Prototipe VL-PTUL diujicoba secara terbatas kepada lima belas orang siswa sebagai pengguna utama. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui Lembar Kerja Siswa, tes tertulis, lembar observasi, dan angket penilaian simulasi. Pendapat guru mengenai prototipe VL-PTUL juga dikumpulkan melalui angket. Prototipe VL-PTUL yang dikembangkan memiliki karakteristik dapat menampilkan dua representasi yaitu makroskopik dan submikroskopik. Penguasaan konsep yang dapat dibangun melalui prototipe VL-PTUL adalah konsep tekanan uap dan penurunan tekanan uap larutan non elektrolit oleh siswa kelompok tinggi dan sedang. Keterampilan proses sains yang dapat dibangun oleh siswa melalui Prototipe VL-PTUL adalah keterampilan melakukan pengamatan oleh siswa kelompok tinggi, sedang, dan rendah; kemampuan menafsirkan pengamatan oleh siswa kelompok tinggi; dan kemampuan mengelompokkan oleh siswa kelompok tinggi dan rendah. Kekuatan prototipe VL-PTUL yang dikembangkan terletak pada kemampuan dalam peragaan (animasi) prosedur kerja pengukuran tekanan uap pelarut dan larutan, karena simulasi tersebut dapat merespon data (massa zat terlarut) yang dimasukkan secara bebas sesuai keinginan siswa. Sementara itu kelemahannya terletak pada konstruksi alat dan fenomena yang disajikan hanya terbatas pada proses penguapan.-----This study aimed to produce a virtual laboratory prototype on vapor-pressure lowering of solution subject matter (VL-PTUL). The virtual laboratory was utilized to construct concept and students’ science process skills of twelve grade Senior High School in Sumedang district. Additionally information of the characteristics, strenghts, and weaknesses of constructed VL-PTUL prototype was also collected. The research method used was a Research & Development approach with limited testing. VL-PTUL prototype was given to fifteen students as primary user. The data was collected through student worksheet, written test, observation sheet, and questionnaire simulation assessment. Additionally, the teacher opinion on the VL-PTUL prototype were also collected using questionnaire. The constructed VL-PTUL prototype was able to represent macroscopic and sub microscopic levels. The mastery of the concept that can be develop was related to concept of vapor pressure and lowering vapor pressure of non electrolyte solution by high and medium group students. The science process skills that could be developed by student were the skill of observing by high, medium, and low group students; the skill of interpreting by high-group students; and the skill of grouping by high and low group students. The strength of the constructed VL-PTUL prototype lies in the ability in the demostration of the working procedure of solvent vapor pressure and solution vapor pressure measurement, as it can respond to the data (solute mass) input freely as the student’s need. While the weakness lies in the construction of the tool and the phenomenon presented that is limited to the pavoration process.
