Abstract
The study aims to understand the effectiveness of tutoring through storytelling techniques to improve achievement motivation class IX B SMP Negeri 1 Sindue Tombusabora Central Sulawesi Province Academic Year 2017/2018. The research approach used is quantitative approach with single subject method with A-B design. Sampling technique using purposive sampling. The research instrument used is student achievement motivation instrument. The data analysis technique uses visual analysis by looking at trend line direction and descriptive statistic analysis using rating scale, ie mean, percentage, and standard deviation to test the effectiveness of intervention. The results showed significant differences in scores between the baseline phase and the intervention phase with increasing student achievement motivation. The findings explain the effective storytelling technique to increase the achievement motivation in the AA, RL and RB students on the aspect of having the desire to achieve, to anticipate the goals, to perform the achievement, overcome the obstacles, to have the feeling atmosphere, the use of assistance and to plan the future career, but on the counselee of RB there is no improvement in the aspect of future career planning. ---- Penelitian bertujuan mengertahui efektivitas bimbingan belajar melalui teknik storytelling untuk meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi kelas IX B SMP Negeri 1 Sindue Tombusabora Provinsi Sulawesi Tengah Tahun Ajaran 2017/2018. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode single subject dengan design A-B. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Intrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah intrumen motivasi berprestasi siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis visual dengan melihat arah kecenderungan garis (trend) dan analisis statistika deksriptif dengan menggunakan rating scale, yaitu rata-rata (mean), perentase, dan simpangan baku untuk menguji keefektifan intervensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadinya perbedaan skor yang signifikan antara fase baseline dan fase intervensi dengan meningkatnya motivasi berprestasi siswa. Temuan menjelaskan teknik storytelling efektif meningkatkan motivasi berprestasi pada siswa AA, RL dan RB pada aspek memiliki keinginan untuk berprestasi, melakukan antisipasi tujuan, melakukan kegiatan berprestasi, mengatasi hambatan, memiliki suasana perasaan, pemanfaatan bantuan dan merencanakan karir masa depan, akan tetapi pada konseli RB tidak ada peningkatan pada aspek merencanakan karir masa depan.
