Abstract

Model pembelajaran Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) merupakan salah satu tipe dari model pembelajaran kooperatif. Rumusan masalah umum dalam penelitian ini yaitu “Apakah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS di kelas tinggi di SDIT Nabawi?”. Kemampuan berpikir kritis yang diteliti terfokus pada aspek Elementary Clarification yang terdiri dari aspek memfokuskan pertanyaan, menganalisis argumen, dan menjawab suatu pertanyaan dengan penjelasan, mengingat peserta didik yang diteliti merupakan siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian dilakukan karena memperhatikan rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik di Indonesia. Terlihat dari salah satu hasil survei IMSTEP-JICA yang menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami kesulitan ketika mengikuti beberapa kegiatan dalam mempelajari materi. Kesulitan tersebut disebabkan oleh sulitnya siswa melakukan pemecahan masalah yang memerlukan dan menuntut siswa untuk memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis. Populasi penelitian ini merupakan peserta didik kelas tinggi di SDIT Nabawi yang berjumlah 96 orang dengan sampel kelas V A yang berjumlah 20 orang yang diambil menggunakan teknik Cluster Sampling. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian One Group Time Series Design. Secara umum, hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) efektif digunakan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas tinggi di SDIT Nabawi. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model ini dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran dalam upaya meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik di sekolah dasar khususnya pada Mata Pelajaran IPS di kelas tinggi. ----- Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) is one of the type of cooperative learning model. The general problem formulation of this research was “Does the Two Stay Two Stray (TSTS) cooperative learning model effective on improving high-class student’s critical thinking skills on Social Science subjects at SDIT Nabawi?”. The critical thinking skills focused on Elementary Clarification which consists of focusing the question, analyzing the argument, and answering a question with explanation aspect. This research is done because of the low critical thinking skills of Indonesian students. It seems from one of the surveys that have been implemented by IMSTEP-JICA, which showed that students had difficulties in following some activities to understand the material of learning. It is caused by the students' inability to solve problems that require students to have critical thinking skills. The population of this study is a high-class student consisting of 96 people, with V grade of A as a sample, consisting of 20 people selected by Cluster Sampling technique. Quasi-experimental design was used on this research by using One Group Time Series Design. Generally, the result of this research showed that the implementation of cooperative learning model TSTS has been effectively used in order to improve the high-class student’s critical thinking skills on Social Science Subjects at SDIT Nabawi. Thus, it can be concluded that this model can be applied in learning as an effort to improve the critical thinking skills of learners in elementary schools, especially to high-class student on Social Science Subjects
