Abstract

Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kompetensi konseling multibudaya bagi Guru BK. Kompetensi konseling multibudaya bermanfaat bagi Guru BK untuk menyelenggarakan konseling yang efektif dengan peserta didik yang berbeda latar belakang budaya. Tujuan penelitian adalah menguji keefektifan pelatihan Multicultural Action Project (MAP) untuk meningkatkan kompetensi konseling multibudaya Guru BK. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen kuasi dengan subjek tunggal berpola A-B-A. Populasi penelitian adalah Guru BK SMA di Kota Bandung, dengan subjek penelitian Guru BK yang baru menjadi Guru BK selama 1-3 tahun (N=3) dengan kategori kurang kompeten dan skor yang memiliki kecenderungan rendah pada setiap sub kompetensi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kompetensi konseling multibudaya yang signifikan pada subjek penelitian. Temuan ini menjelaskan bahwa Pelatihan Multicultural Action Project (MAP) efektif untuk meningkatkan kompetensi konseling multibudaya Guru BK. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka Pelatihan Multicultural Action Project (MAP) dapat dijadikan upaya pengembangan kompetensi oleh ABKIN atau MGBK untuk meningkatkan kompetensi konseling multibudaya Guru BK yang berada pada kategori rendah. ----This study was underlied by the importance of multicultural counseling competence for school counselors. Multicultural counseling competence is one of the sources of effective counseling implementation to students coming from different cultures. This study aims at testing the effectiveness of Multicultural Action Project (MAP) training in improving the multicultural counseling competence of shool counselors. Furthermore, this study employed quasy experimental design with A-B-A patterned single subject. The samples of the study were three school counselors working for 1-3 years in senior high school in Bandung. They were chosen due to the results of pre-test and baseline behavior showing that their competence and score was considered low. The result showed that there was significant improvement in the multicultural counseling competence of the school counselors. The findings defined that MAP training was effective in improving multicultural counseling competence of the samples. Based on the result, it is concluded that MAP training is necessary in the improvement program conducted by ABKIN or MGBK to provide good sources in the multicultural counseling competence of school counselors who still have low competence.
