Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada anak kelompok B di Taman Kanak-kanak Bunda Ganesa, dengan jumlah subjek penelitian 14 orang anak yang berusia 5-6 Tahun. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan membaca anak melalui media kartu Abacaga. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara kemampuan membaca anak yang sebelumnya masih ada yang tertukar dalam menyebutkan huruf b dan d, serta anak masih kesulitan dalam membaca rangkaian huruf dalam kata. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dan melakukan kolaborasi dengan guru kelas. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa pedoman observasi. Penelitian dilakukan dengan tiga tahap yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap refleksi. Kondisi awal kemampuan membaca anak di kelompok B di Taman Kanak-kanak Bunda Ganesa masih belum terstimulasi secara maksimal, sehingga masih banyak anak yang mengalami kesulitan dalam membaca dengan presentase kategori belum muncul(BM) 42,86%, kategori mulai muncul(MM) 21,43%, kategori berkembang sesuai harapan(BSH) 21,43%, dan berkembang sangat baik(BSB) 14,29%. Namun setelah diberikan kegiatan membaca melalui media kartu Abacaga, kemampuan membaca anak mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan. Presentase kemampuan membaca anak dalam kategori belum muncul(BM) 0%, kategori mulai muncul(MM) 7,15%, kategori berkembang sesuai harapan(BSH) 14,29%, dan kategori berkembang sesuai harapan(BSB) 78,58%. Dari hasil penelitian menggunakan media kartu Abacaga dapat direkomendasikan bagi pendidik anak usia dini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak.----- This study was conducted on the children of group B in Kindergarten Bunda Ganesa, with the number of research subject of 14 children aged 5-6 years. This study aims to determine the ability to read children through Abacaga media card. Based on observations and interviews of reading ability of children who previously exists are exchanged in mentioning the letter b and d, and the child is still difficult in reading the series of letters in the word. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Research and collaborating with classroom teachers. Research data obtained by using research instrument in the form of observation guideline. The study was conducted in three stages: planning, implementation, and reflection. The initial conduction of childrens reading ability in group B in Kindergarten Bunda Ganesa is still not maximally stimulated, so three are still many children who have difficulties in reading with percentage of categories not yet emerging (BM) 42,86%, category start emerging (MM) 21,43%, the category develops as expected (BSH) 21,43%, and develops very well (BSB) 14,29%. However, after being given the reading activity through Abacaga media card, the reading ability of childrens has increased significantly. The percentage of reading ability of children in category not yet emerging (BM) 0%, category start emerging (MM) 7,15%, developing category as expected (BSH) 14,29%, and developing categorys expected (BSB) 78,58%. From the result of these studies using Abacaga card media can be recommended for early childhood education to improve reading ability of children.
