Abstract

Kehidupan individu tidak terlepas dari kebutuhan untuk bergaul dengan sesamanya. Kebutuhan ini merupakan kebutuhan mendasar bagi individu. Karena adanya kebutuhan inilah individu akan melakukan interaksi dengan sesamanya untuk mencapai tujuan tertentu. Interaksi antar individu tersebut dapat dilakukan melalui komunikasi. Konsep diri merupakan faktor yang sangat menentukan dalam komunikasi, karena setiap orang bertingkah laku sebisa mungkin sesuai dengan konsep dirinya. Penelitian bertujuan mendeskripsikan hubungan antara konsep diri dengan kecemasan komunikasi pada peserta didik SMA Angkasa Lanud Husein Sastranegara Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan studi deskriptif dan studi korelasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Secara umum peserta didik kelas X SMA Angkasa Lanud Husein Sastranegara Bandung memiliki konsep diri yang positif artinya, peserta didik mampu mengenali diri sendiri, dan mampu melakukan penilaian terhadap diri secara menyeluruh. (2) Secara umum peserta didik kelas X SMA Angkasa Lanud Husein Sastranegara Bandung memiliki tingkat kecemasan komunikasi yang rendah artinya, peserta didik memiliki kemampuan untuk berkomunikasi yang baik didepan umum atau dilingkungan sekitar. (3) Terdapat hubungan negatif signifikan antara konsep diri dengan kecemasan komunikasi, artinya setiap satu tingkat kenaikan konsep diri maka akan diikuti satu tingkat penurunan kecemasan komunikasi. Meningkatnya kecemasan komunikasi di SMA Angkasa Lanud Husein Sastranegara Bandung tidak selalu dipengaruhi oleh konsep diri, hanya dipengaruhi sebesar 25,1%. Konsep diri positif pada peserta didik diikuti dengan tingkat kecemasan komunikasi yang rendah, sebaliknya konsep diri negatif maka diikuti dengan kecemasan komunikasi yang tinggi. ;--- Individual life cannot be separated from the need to get along with each other. This need is a fundamental need for the individual. Because of the need, the individual will interact with each other to achieve certain goals. Interaction between individuals can be done through communication. Self-concept is a very decisive factor in communication because everyone behaves as much as possible in accordance with the concept itself. The study aimed to describe the relationship between self-concept and communication apprehension on students of SMA Angkasa Lanud Husein Sastranegara Bandung Academic Year 2016/2017. The study used a quantitative approach with descriptive and correlational studies. The results showed (1) In general, the X Grade Students of SMA Angkasa Lanud Husein Sastranegara Bandung have a positive self-concept, it means that the students are able to recognize themselves, and able to do assessment on themselves as a whole. (2) In general, X Grade Students of SMA High School Angkasa Lanud Husein Sastranegara Bandung have a low level of communication apprehension, it means that the students have the ability to communicate well in public or the surrounding environment. (3) There is a significant negative correlation between self-concept and communication apprehension, it means if self-concept increases one level, communication apprehension will decrease one level. Increasing communication apprehension at SMA Angkasa Lanud Husein Sastranegara Bandung is not always influenced by self-concept, only influenced by 25.1%. Positive self-concept on the students followed by a low level of anxiety, on the contrary a negative self-concept followed by high communication apprehension
