Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya aktivitas belajar siswa di SMP Negeri 3 Parongpong. Indikator permasalahan yang ditemukan yaitu keaktifan belajar siswa yang rendah, rendahnya partisipasi siswa pembelajaran, kurangnya inisiatif siswa dalam mengikuti proses belajar. Oleh karena itu perlu ditingkatkan aktivitas belajar dengan menggunakan metode Cooperative Learning Type Team Games Tuornament (TGT). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi perkembangan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, hambatan dan solusi serta mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa, dengan menggunakan metode Cooperative Learning Type Team Games Tuornament (TGT) dalam pembelajaran IPS. Aktivitas belajar siswa adalah keterlibatan dalam bentuk sikap, pikiran, perhatian dalam kegiatan belajar. Adapun peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dapat dilihat dari beberapa indikator yaitu aktivitas visual, aktivitas mendengarkan, aktivitas lisan, dan aktivitas menulis, dan kemampuan siswa dalam melaksanakan kegiatan TGT (Teams Games Tournaments). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang dilakukan sebanyak tiga siklus. Pada siklus 1 peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dapat dikatagorikan “Cukup”. Siswa hanya dapat menerapkan indikator aktivitas visual, dan aktivitas mendengarkan. Pada siklus 2 hasil pengamatan menunjukan adanya peningkatan terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa dengan berada pada kategori “Baik”, dengan menerapkan indikator aktivits visual, aktivitas mendengarkan, dan aktivitas menulis. Pada siklus ke 3 aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan berada pada kategori “Baik”, secara umum dari penelitian ini yaitu aktivitas belajar siswa dapat meningkat melalui metode Cooperative Learning Type Team Games Tuornament (TGT) dalam pembelajaran IPS----- This research is motivated by low student learning activity in 3 Parongpong Junior High School. Indicators of the problems found are low student learning activeness, low student participation learning, lack of student initiative in following the learning process. Therefore it is necessary to improve learning activities using Cooperative Learning Type Team Games Tuornament (TGT) method. This study aims to identify the development of planning, implementation, obstacles and solutions and to know the increase of learning activity sisw, by using Cooperative Learning Type Team Games Tuornament (TGT) method in Social Studies learning. Student learning activity is the involvement in the form of attitude, mind, attention in learning activities. The increase in student learning activity can be seen from several indicators of visual activity, listening activity, oral activity, and writing activities, and students' ability in carrying out TGT activities (Teams Games Tournaments). This research uses Classroom Action Research method with Kemmis and Mc research design. Taggart is done as many as three cycles. In cycle 1 the increase of student learning activity can be categorized as "Enough". Students can only apply visual activity indicators, and listening activities. In cycle 2, the result of the observation showed an increase of student learning activity by being in the "Good" category, by applying visual activism indicator, listening activity, and writing activity. In the third cycle of learning activities of students have increased by being in the category of "Good", in general from this study that student learning activities can be increased through the method of Cooperative Learning Type Team Games Tuornament (TGT) in learning Social Studies.
