Abstract

Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi kelas XI IIS SMA Negeri 11 Bandung. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh model cooperative learning teknik group investigation terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran ekonomi materi ketenagakerjaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berupa tes tertulis berbentuk uraian. Hipotesis diuji menggunakan uji parametrik yaitu uji paired-sample t test dan independent-samples t test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (i) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas eksperimen antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan dengan menggunakan model cooperative learning teknik group investigation materi ketenagakerjaan pada kategori sedang; (ii) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan model cooperative learning teknik group investigation dengan kelas kontrol yang menggunakan metode ceramah dan tanya jawab.;--- The problem in this research is grade XI Social students’ low critical thinking ability in economy subject in SMA Negeri 11 Bandung. The aim of this research is to know the effect of cooperative learning model with technique of group investigation towards students’ critical thinking ability in Economy subject under the topic of employment. This study used quasi-experimental method with non-equivalent control group design. The instrument of this study is written test in the form of essay. The hypotheses were tested using a parametric test, paired-sample t-test and independent samples t-test. The result of this study showed that: (i) there is a difference in the improvement of students’ critical thinking ability in experiment class before and after the treatment of cooperative learning model with technique of group investigation, the improvement category is medium; (ii) there is a difference in improvement of students’ critical thinking ability between experiment class with the treatment of cooperative learning model with technique of group investigation and control class that used conventional and question-answer method.
