Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan fakta empiris tentang kreativitas bermusik yaitu mengenai pribadi, proses, produk serta faktor yang mendorong kreativitas pada musisi indie yaitu pada band The Panic yang berasal dari Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dan pendekatan studi fenomenologi. Subjek penelitian merupakan para personil dari band The Panic yang berjumlah tiga orang dengan rentang usia 28-29 tahun dan berjenis kelamin laki-laki. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan pertimbangan subjektif dari beberapa pakar ahli dibidang musik. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan ketiga subjek mampu menghasilkan produk kreatif dalam bentuk kumpulan karya musik yang tertuang dalam album The Panic yang berjudul “All Human Talk”. Hal ini dipengaruhi karena pribadi kreatif ketiga subjek yang mendapat dorongan positif, baik dalam minat yang kuat dan dari sosialnya, serta dengan melalui proses kreatif dalam menemukan jalan keluar dari masalah yang sedang dihadapi sehingga mampu menghasilkan sebuah karya sebagai produk kreatifnya. Dari penelitian ini terdapat beberapa rekomendasi, yakni bagi para personil band The Panic dan musisi indie lainnya diharapkan dapat menjadi wawasan mengenai kreativitas dalam bermusik sehingga subjek dapat mengembangkan kemampuannya dalam bermusik baik itu menciptakan karya-karya kreatif maupun menambah keterampilan dalam bermain musik. Bagi peneliti selanjutnya, diharapkan dapat meneliti tanpa intervensi penilaian subjektif, peneliti juga diharapkan lebih memperkaya literatur dan hasil-hasil penelitian terdahulu pada bidang yang dikaji agar hasil lebih mendukung. Kata Kunci : Kreativitas, Musik, Musisi Indie This research aims to describe the empirical facts about creativity of music, concerning in study of individuality, process, products and also factors that may affect creativity on “The Panic” band, an indie musician from Bandung. Phenomenological research design with qualitative research is used in this research. The research subjects are members of related band that consists of three man who is 28-29 years old. Interview, observation, documentation, and subjective point of view from professional musicians are some data collecting techniques which used in this research. The result of this research shows that all of the research subjects are able to produce creativity which shown in some arranged music that include in their album called “All Human Talk”. It all affected by characteristic of creativity inside of them whom received positive motivations from themself and their social environment, furthermore they also had gone through the creative process in a way to find some solution for their problems with the result that they are able to create music as their creativity product. This research has some recommendations for “The Panic” band members and other indie musicians. Hopefully this research will be a useful music experience knowledge for subjects to improve their ability in music or other kinds of creative creation and even to improve their skill in playing any musical instruments. Furthermore, researcher hope to be able to do this research without any interventions from subjective point of view. Researcher also hope to be able to enrich the literature and other past research with the same topic in effort to enrich a better result. Key Word : Creativity, Music, Indie Musician
