Abstract

Permintaan kualitas Sumber Daya Manusia dalam abad 21, selain mengharuskan manusia untuk berpengetahuan juga mengharuskan untuk berpikiran kritis, sehingga dilakukan penelitian pre-experiment yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak implementasi model pembelajaran Project Challenge Based Learning (PjCBL), dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMA. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pre test post test design. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari satu kelas eksperimen di salah satu SMA Swasta di Kabupaten Bogor. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan berpikir kritis, yang sebelumnya telah disusun dan divalidasi oleh beberapa validator, kemudian diuji coba. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, telah diperoleh nilai rata-rata gain yang dinormalisasi < > untuk kemampuan kognitif sebesar 0,53 dan untuk keterampilan berpikir kritis sebesar 0,34. Dari nilai rata-rata gain yang dinormalisasi tersebut dapat dikatakan bahwa implementasi model pembelajaran PjCBL mampu meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMA.----------The demand for the quality of human resources in the 21 st century, in addition to requiring human beings to be knowledgeable also requires critical thinking, so that pre- experiment research is conducted to determine the impact of the implementation of the project challenge based learning (PjCBL), in enhancing cognitive abilities and critical thinking skills of high school student in Bogor district on the static fluid material. The research design used is one group pre test post test design. The study sample consisted of one experimental class. The data were collected using cognitive abilities and critical thinking skills test, which has previously been compiled, validated by expert, and tested. Based on the results of research, we have obtained normalized average gain value < > for cognitive abilities of 0,53 and for critical thinking skills of 0,34. From the normalized average gain value can be said that the implementation of learning model PjCBL able to improve cognitive abilities and critical thinking skills high school students.
