Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya minat baca siswa terhadap novel dikarenakan jenis novel yang diapresiasi rumit. Oleh karena itu, siswa lebih banyak membaca novel-novel yang ringan seperti novel populer. Namun novel populer seringkali diragukan mengenai keberadaan nilai-nilai didaktis di dalamnya. Maka dari itu, tujuan penelitian ini ingin mengetahui ada tidaknya nilai-nilai didaktis di dalam novel Sabtu Bersama Bapak karya Adhitya Mulya. Novel tersebut termasuk ke dalam novel populer. Selain itu, peneliti juga ingin mengetahui resepsi siswa khususnya siswa SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung tentang nilai-nilai didaktis yang terdapat di dalam novel tersebut. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskripsi analisis. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui telaah pustaka, angket, dan analisis novel. Analisis struktural bertujuan untuk mengupas nilai-nilai didaktis yang terdapat di dalam novel. Analisis struktural mengacu pada teori yang dikemukakan oleh Robert Stanton dimana novel akan dikupas menjadi tiga bagian, yakni fakta cerita, tema dan sarana-sarana sastra. Selanjutnya, untuk mengetahui resepsi siswa peneliti menggunakan pendekatan resepsi sastra eksperimental dengan pengumpulan data berupa angket resepsi siswa terhadap novel Sabtu Bersama Bapak. Peneliti menemukan beberapa hal berkenaan dengan hasil analisis nilai-nilai didaktis. Nilai-nilai didaktis yang muncul di dalam novel diantaranya ajaran berupa sikap tanggung jawab, pantang menyerah, kreatif, saling memaafkan, berbakti kepada orangtua, menjunjung harga diri, berani, bermimpi dibarengi perencanaan, sopan dan santun, patuh terhadap orangtua, rendah hati, dan menjunjung kebenaran. Nilai didaktis juga tersirat melalui hubungan antara sesama manusia, yakni hubungan cinta kasih Cakra dan Ayu, kedekatan Cakra sebagai atasan dengan bawahan-bawahannya, dan Kasih sayang orangtua kepada anak-anaknya. Nilai didaktis juga tersirat dari hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan yang berupa pesan religius. Pesan-pesan religius tergambar dari tokoh Bapak. Dari keseluruhan responden, dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa mampu meresepsi nilai-nilai didaktis yang terdapat di dalam novel Sabtu Bersama Bapak. Siswa menemukan nilai-nilai didaktis berupa sikap tanggung jawab, menjunjung harga diri, disiplin, cara meraih mimpi, membela kebenaran, berbakti kepada orang tua, introspeksi diri, rendah hati, tidak sombong, pantang menyerah, kuat, pemberani, sabar, nilai kepemimpinan yang baik, dan nilai religius. Novel Sabtu Bersama Bapak termasuk ke dalam novel populer yang banyak mengandung nilai didaktis sehingga cocok untuk dijadikan bahan bacaan untuk siswa-siswa SMA. ----------------- This study is motivated by the lack of student’s interest in reading novel because novel type is appreciated complicated. Therefore, students read easy light novels such as popular novels. Popular novels are often doubtful about the existence of didactic values in it. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to find out whether or not didactic values are in popular novels. The novel chosen is novel Sabtu Bersama Bapak by Adhitya Mulya. In addition, the author also wants to find out the reception of students, especially students in SMA Kartika XIX-2 Bandung about didactic values contained in the novel. The research method used in this study is the description analysis method. Data collection is conducted by literature review, questionnaire, and novel analysis. Structural analysis aims to explore the didactic values contained in the novel. Structural analysis refers to the theory explained by Robert Stanton where the novel will be pared into three parts, namely the facts of stories, themes and means of literature. Furthermore, to find out the reception of student, the author uses literature experimental reception approach with data collection in the form of student reception questionnaires to the novel Sabtu Bersama Bapak. Author found several points regarding the analysis results of didactic values. Didactic values that appear in the novel include responsibility, unyielding, creative, forgiving, devoted to parents, upholding self-esteem, courage, dreaming accompanied by planning, polite, obedient to parents, humble, and uphold the truth. Didactic value is also implied by the relationship between fellow human beings, namely the relationship of love Cakra and Ayu, the closeness of Cakra as boss with subordinate, and affection of parents to their children. Didactic value is also implied by the human relationship and God in the form of a religious message. Religious messages are illustrated by ‘Bapak’ character. Of the total respondents, it can be concluded that students are able to perceive the didactic values contained in the novel Sabtu Bersama Bapak. Students find didactic values of responsibility, upholding self-esteem, discipline, dream-goal, upholding the truth, devoting to parents, self-introspection, humble, not arrogant, never give up, strong, courage, patient, good, and religious values. Novel Sabtu Bersama Bapak belongs to a popular novel that contains didactic value making it suitable for reading material for high school students.
