Abstract
Penelitian ini berkenaan dengan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe talking stick untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran mekanika teknik di SMK Pu Negeri Bandung. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada kelas X jurusan Teknik Gambar Bangunan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kegiatan pembelajaran, respon peserta didik terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran, serta untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik setelah diterapkannya model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe talking stick dan model pembelajaran langsung (Direct Instruction) sebagai pembanding. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi exsperimental dikhususkan kepada pola nonequivalent control group design dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling purposive. Instrumen pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan tes dan angket. Berdasarkan hasil pengamatan selama kegiatan penelitian, model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe talking stick terbukti lebih efektif dibanding dengan pembelajaran langsung (Direct Instruction). Hal ini terbukti dengan adanya respon positif dari peserta didik serta peningkatan hasil belajar yang secara signifikan dibanding pembelajaran langsung (Direct Instruction). Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe talking stick dapat dijadikan salah satu model pembelajaran di dalam kelas guna menciptakan suasana belajar yang lain dari biasanya sehingga mampu meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.----------This study is concerned with the application of cooperative learning model type of talking stick to improve learning outcomes of learners on the subjects of mechanics engineering at SMK PU Negeri Bandung. This research was conducted in X class of Department of Building Image Engineering. This study aims to find out the description of learning activities, the response of learners to the learning activities, and to know the improvement of learning outcomes of learners after the application of cooperative learning model type of talking stick and direct instruction model (Direct Instruction) as a comparison. In this study using quasi exsperimental method devoted to the pattern of nonequivalent control group design with quantitative approach. Sampling technique in this research use purposive sampling technique. Instrument of data collection using test and questionnaire. Based on observations during the research activities, cooperative type learning model of talking stick proved more effective than direct instruction (Direct Instruction). This is evidenced by the positive response of learners as well as significantly improved learning outcomes compared to direct instruction (Direct Instruction). The recommendation of this research is cooperative learning model of talking stick type can be used as one of the learning model in the classroom to create other learning atmosphere than usual so as to improve the learners' learning outcomes.
