    Abstract

    Kecerdasan visual-spasial memiliki tingkat khayal tinggi yang penting dimiliki oleh mahasiswa pendidikan teknik mesin, karena di bidang tersebut membutuhkan pandangan dari sebuah objek yang sudah tercipta maupun yang akan diciptakan. Kecerdasan visual-spasial yang baik akan lebih mudah memahami pembelajaran. Materi pada mata kuliah Gambar Teknik, Kinematika-Dinamika, dan Elemen Mesin merupakan mata kuliah yang berhubungan dengan kecerdasan visual-spasial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kecerdasan visual-spasial mahasiswa pendidikan teknik mesin dan pengaruh kecerdasan visual-spasial terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa pada Mata Kuliah Gambar Teknik, Kinematika-Dinamika, dan Elemen Mesin. Metode penelitian menggunakan ex-post facto dan penelitian dilakukan terhadap 42 mahasiswa pendidikan teknik mesin konsentrasi produksi dan perancangan Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dengan memberikan dua jenis tes untuk mengukur kecerdasan visual-spasial, yaitu Deferential Aptitude Test (DAT) dan Flanagan Aptitude Classification Test (FACT). Pengukuran kecerdasan visual-spasial tersebut bekerja sama dengan Laboratorium Psikologi Pendidikan dan Bimbingan UPI. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh yang positif kecerdasan visual-spasial terhadap hasil belajar Mata Kuliah Gambar Teknik, Mata Kuliah Kinematika-Dinamika, dan Mata Kuliah Elemen Mesin. Besar koefisien determinasi untuk Mata Kuliah Gambar Teknik sebesar 10,1%, untuk Mata Kuliah Kinematika-Dinamika sebesar 14,5%, dan Mata Kuliah Elemen Mesin sebesar 0,1%,

    A visual-spatial intelligence has a high degree of imagination which is important for mechanical engineering education students, since that field (department) required the views of an object that has been created or will be created. Having a good visual-spatial intelligence will be easier to understand learning material. Material on Engineering Drawing, Kinematics-Dynamics, and Machine Elements subject is a course that related to visual-spatial intelligence. This study aims to know the level of visual-spatial intelligence of mechanical engineering students and to determine its influence on learning results in Engineering Drawing, Kinematics-Dynamics, and Machine Elements subject. This study used ex-post facto method and this study is done to the 42 mechanical engineering students with production and designing concentration of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia by providing two types of visual-spatial intelligence tests namely Deferential Aptitude Test (DAT) and Flanagan Aptitude Classification Test (FACT). The measurements were done by collaborating with the Education Psychology and Counseling Laboratory UPI. The result shows that there is a positive influence of visual-spatial intelligence on the learning results of Engineering Drawing, Kinematics-Dynamics, and Machine Elements subject. The coefficient of determination in Engineering Drawing subject is 10,1%, in Kinematics-Dynamics subject is 14,5%, and in Machine Elements subject, the coefficient of determination is 0,1%
