Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode SAS (Struktural Analitik Sintetik) berbantuan media sandpaper letters dengan permainan bahasa terhadap keterampilan membaca dan menulis permulaan siswa kelas I sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas I SDN Sukamulya Kecamatan Baleendah Kabupaten Bandung. Alasan penelitian ini dilaksanakan karena keterampilan membaca dan menulis permulaan merupakan keterampilan yang sangat diperlukan untuk dapat terlaksananya proses pembelajaran, memahami bidang studi lain, dan sebagai dasar bagi keterampilan membaca lanjut. Selain itu, kurangnya penerapan metode pembelajaran membaca dan menulis permulaan yang sesuai dengan karakter perkembangan sehingga menyebabkan siswa kurang antusias mengikuti pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen pretest-posttest control group design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan berbentuk tes lisan dan tes tertulis dengan jumlah siswa 32 dari masing-masing kelompok. Indikator yang dinilai dalam keterampilan membaca permulaan meliputi kemampuan: (1) membaca kata dengan jelas, lancar, dan tepat, (2) membaca kalimat dengan lancar, tepat dan intonasi yang wajar, dan (3) membaca cerita sederhana dengan lancar, tepat, dan intonasi yang wajar. Adapun indikator yang dinilai dalam keterampilan menulis permulaan meliputi kemampuan: (1) melengkapi kata pada kalimat rumpang, (2) menuliskan kembali kalimat pada sebuah gambar, dan (3) menulis kalimat berdasarkan gambar. Data dari masing-masing keterampilan ini kemudian dianalisis melalui pengujian statistik menggunakan Software SPSS 21 dan Microsoft Excel 2007. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah (1) metode SAS berbantuan media sandpaper letters dengan permainan bahasa berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap keterampilan membaca permulaan, dan (2) metode SAS berbantuan media sandpaper letters dengan permainan bahasa tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap keterampilan menulis permulaan. Kata kunci: metode SAS, sandpaper letters, membaca permulaan, menulis permulaan ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the influence of SAS (Synthetic Analytical Structural) method assisted sandpaper letters with language game on the reading and writing skills of first grade students of elementary school. This research was conducted in class I SDN Sukamulya District Baleendah Regency Bandung. The reason for this research is because the skills of early reading and writing skills that are necessary for the implementation of the learning process, to understand other study, and as a basis for advanced reading skills. In addition, the lack of application of learning methods to read and write the beginning in accordance with the character of child development that causes students less enthusiastic in following the learning. This research uses quasi experimental method of pretest-posttest control group design. The research instrument used in the form of oral test and written test with the number of students 32 from each group. The indicators assessed in the early reading skill include the ability to: (1) reading the words clearly, fluently, and appropriately, (2) reading the sentences smoothly, appropriately and intonation reasonable, and (3) reading simple stories smoothly, precisely, and reasonable intonation. The indicators assessed in the early writing skills include the ability to: (1) complete the word on the sentence, (2) rewrite the sentence in an image, and (3) write the sentence by picture. The data from each of these skills were then analyzed through statistical testing using SPSS 21 and Microsoft Excel 2007 software. The results of the research were (1) SAS method assisted sandpaper letters with language game significantly influenced early reading skill, and (2) SAS method assisted sandpaper letters with language game have no significant effect on initial writing skills.
