Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya orientasi karier peserta didik yang berhubungan dengan kesiapan individu untuk menentukan pilihan karier secara tepat akibatnya masih banyak peserta didik yang masih mengalami kebingungan dalam menentukan studi lanjutan di jenjang SMA/SMK serta masih minimnya informasi serta pengetahuan informasi terkait dengan studi lanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kecenderungan orientasi karier peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 19 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2016/2017 dengan pendekatan kuantitatif, metode deskriptif dan desain cross sectional survei terhadap 252 peserta didik dengan menggunakan instrumen Career Development Inventory (CDI). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kecenderungan orientasi karier peserta didik secara umum berada pada kategori sedang. Selain itu, kecenderungan orientasi karier peserta didik berdasarkan jenis kelamin dan kelas berada pada kategori sedang dimana tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara peserta didik berjenis kelamin laki-laki dengan peserta didik berjenis kelamin perempuan. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai landasan dalam pengembangan layanan bimbingan karier untuk meningkatkan orientasi karier peserta didik. ;---This research is motivated by the importance of career orientation of students related to individual readiness to determine career choices precisely so many students are still confused in determining advanced study in SMA / SMK level and still lack of information and knowledge of information related to advanced study. This study aims to describe the career orientation tendency of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 19 Bandung Academic Year 2016/2017 with quantitative approach, descriptive method and cross sectional design of the survey of 252 learners using Career Development Inventory (CDI) instrument. The results of this study indicate that the tendency of career orientation of students in general are in the moderate category. In addition, the tendency of career orientation of students by sex and class is in the moderate category where there is no significant difference between male and female students. The results of this study can serve as a foundation in the development of career guidance services to improve the career orientation of learners.
