Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelaah peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis dan pemecahan masalah siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran problem based learning dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; menelaah disposisi matematik antara siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran Problem Based Learning dan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional; menelaah korelasi antara kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada kelas yang menggunakan pembelajaran problem based learning. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen pada salah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Padang. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan kelompok kontrol pretes dan postes. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri di Kota Padang yang terdaftar pada tahun pelajaran 2016/2017. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan cara pengundian terhadap kelas anggota populasi. Salah satu kelas yang terpilih dijadikan kelas eksperimen dan kelas lainnya dijadikan kelas kontrol. Pada kelas eskperimen diberikan perlakuan dengan model pembelajaran problem based learning (PBL) sedangkan pada kelas kontrol diberikan perlakuan model pembelajaran konvensional dengan pendekatan saintifik. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa 1) pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, 2) pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, 3) pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning dapat meningkatkan disposisi matematik siswa dibandingkan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran konvensional, 4) terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara kemampuan komunikasi matematis dengan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada kelas yang menggunakan pembelajaran problem based learning.;--- This research is aimed at analyzing the improvement of students’ ability of mathematic communication and problem solving and mathematic disposition through Problem-Based Learning Model and Conventional Model; identifying mathematic disposition between the students who are taught by Problem-Based Learning Model and Conventional Model; identifying the correlation between the ability of mathematic communication and problem solving toward the students who are taught by using Problem-Based Learning Model. The method used in this research is quasi experimental research done at one of SMPs in Padang City West Sumatera Province. The research design is pretest and posttest control group design. Population of the research is all the students at grade VII SMP Negeri registered at the academic year 2016/2017. The sample of the research is drawn by using cluster random sampling with lottery. Two classes were taken as sample. One class became experimental group and the other was control group. Experimental group was taught by using Problem-based Learning (PBL) while the other was taught by conventional model with the emphasis on scientific approach. The findings of the research show that (1) there is a better increase in students ability of mathematic communication that are taught by Problem-based learning compared to those who are taught by conventional model; (2) there is a better increase in students’ ability in solving mathematic problem that are taught by using Problem-based learning compared to the students who are taught by conventional model; (3) the students’ mathematic disposition is better with Poblem-based Learning compared to conventional model; (4) there is a significant correlation between students’ mathematic communication ability and the students’ ability in solving mathematic problem when they are taught by using Problem-based learning.
