Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas III SDN I Kota Bandung pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Berdasarkan pengalaman observasi di kelas III B, peneliti mengidentifikasi yang terjadi selama proses pembelajaran membaca pemahaman siswa di kelas III B masih rendah, khususnya pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia belum menggunakan metode pembelajaran yang inovatif. Hal ini terlihat dari kesulitan siswa menentukan ide pokok pada teks bacaan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran penerapan metode PQ4R untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas III sekolah dasar dan mendeskripsikan bagaimana peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa dengan penerapan metode PQ4R di kelas III sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas. Menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dengan 2 siklus. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan tes dan observasi. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas III berjumlah 33 siswa. Siswa sangat antusias dan aktif selama proses pembelajaran melalui penerapan metode PQ4R. Pada siklus I rata-rata nilai siswa sebesar 68,6 dengan ketuntasan sebesar 72,7% dan siklus II meningkat 84,8 dengan ketuntasan sebesar 93,9%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode PQ4R dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas III sekolah dasar.;---
This research has been background by how low reading capability comprehension of third class student in SDN I Bandung City at Indonesia language lesson. This matter has been found from how hard the student decide to ged reading tex. The Indonesian learning process has not used innovative learning methods. This reseacrh has puspose for describing picture of implementation PQ4R method to develope reading capability comprehension of third class student in elementary school and also for describing how to increase reading capability comprehension student with implementation of PQ4R method in third class of elemntary school. Research method which used is class research measure method. Using model Kemmis and MC. Taggart with two cycles. Data collecting tehnique in this research uses and observation. Subject of this research is third class student which are 33 students. Student are enthusiastic and active during learning process by implementation PQ4R method. Average first cycle of student is in the amount of 68,6 with completed is in the amount of 72,7% and at second cycle increases 84,8 with completed is in the amount of 93,9%. Conclusion in the end is that implementation of PQ4R method can develope reading capability comprehension of third class student in elementary school.
