Abstract
Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti melakukan penelitian mengenai Kesenian Lebon di Desa Selasari Kabupaten Pangandaran. Peneliti merasa tertarik meneliti Kesenian Lebon untuk mendokumentasikan secara tertulis, serta merevitalisasi sebagai bentuk pelestarian kesenian daerah. Permasalahan dari penelitian ini terkait dengan struktur pertunjukan, gerak, busana dan properti, serta iringan pada Kesenian Lebon, sehingga tujuan penelitian yang ingin dicapai di antaranya memahami struktur pertunjukan, gerak, busana dan properti, serta iringan yang ada pada Kesenian Lebon. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Adapun instrumen yang digunakan diantaranya wawancara dan observasi sebagai bentuk upaya guna memperoleh keakuratan data yang peneliti butuhkan. Beberapa teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini, diantaranya dengan observasi, wawancara, studi pustaka, dan studi dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, Kesenian Lebon adalah seni khas dari desa Selasari Kabupaten Pangandaran. Arti dari kata Lebon yakni, sisipan dari bahasa Jawa dan Sunda yang dibagi menjadi dua suku kata; Lebboni (Jawa) yang artinya diboehan (dikafani) dan Lebbokna (Sunda) yang berarti dilebok atau dikurebkeun (dikubur). Pada tahun 1650-an saat masa kerajaan Galuh (runtuh) kesenian Lebon merupakan pertarungan pertumpahan darah yang bertujuan sebagai pencarian jawara pertahanan daerah. Pada tahun 1950-an bentuk kesenian Lebon direvitalisasi menjadi media penyelesaian masalah perebutan kekuasaan lahan pertanian antar kelompok. Sejak 2010 hingga saat ini kesenian Lebon digunakan sebagai kebutuhan pertunjukan hiburan pada berbagai acara besar di kabupaten Pangandaran. Terdapat 3 tahapan dalam struktur pertunjukan kesenian lebon, yakni bubuka, isi, dan penutup. Gerak pada kesenian Lebon diadopsi dari gerak dasar Pencak Silat, dan diimprovisasikan dengan gerak pukulan pertarungan. Busana dan properti yang digunakan tidak hanya berfungsi untuk estetika, melainkan untuk melindungi bagian tubuh yang dianggap vital. Kesenian Lebon menggunakan iringan yang disesuaikan dengan gerak dan tema pertandingan. Dengan demikian dapat dikatakan bahwa Kesenian Lebon telah mengalami perubahan, baik dari struktur pertunjukan maupun fungsinya di masyarakat.;--- This study was conducted entitled “Kesenian Lebon di Desa Selasari Kabupaten Pangandaran” (Lebon Art Performance in Desa Selasari, Pangandaran District), aims to know the development of the arts which has the function change Lebon performances at any time, and to know in General about the arts structure in Lebon performances, motion, clothing and property, as well as accompaniment. In accordance with the principal issue examined in this research, using qualitative approach, namely by researching on objects in nature. The research method used is descriptive analysis, this method is intended to produce data that correspond to the objects that areexamined in the field. As for the instruments used include interviews and observations as an effort to get the accuracy of data that researchers need. Some of the techniques of data collection conducted in this study, including observation, interview, library studies, and study the documentation. The art of Lebon is an art typical of the village of Selasari District of Pangandaran. As for the word Lebon, it is derived from Javanese and Sundanese words; Lebboni (Javanese) which means diboehan (wrapped in shroud) and Lebbokna (Sundanese), means dilebok or dikurebkeun (buried). In the year 1650, under the authority of Galuh kingdom (till its collapse), Lebon art performance was a bloodbath fight which was aimed to seek for a jawara or a region defense champion. Moreover, in 1950, Lebon art performance was revitalized become a medium of problem solving for the agricultural land seizing between groups. Nowadays, since 2010, Lebon art performance has been used as an entertainment show at various main events in Pangandaran. There are three stages consisted in Lebon art performance, bubuka (opening), content, and closing. Many of the movements from Lebon art performance are adopted from the basic movements of Pencak Silat. Later on, it is improvised with several battle-action movements. Additionally, for the clothing and properties, they are not only served for the purpose of aesthetics, but also to protect several vital body parts. Lebon art performance applies matched musics according to its theme and and movements. Thus, it can be concluded that Lebon art performance has undergone a change, both from its structure and function or role in society.
