Abstract

Keberanian Berpendapat Siswa pada Pembelajaran PKn di kelas VIII-C SMP Kartika XIX-2 Bandung terlihat masih rendah yang ditunjukan dengan rendahnya keberanian dalam bertanya, menjawab pertanyaan, dan mengemukakan gagasannya di dalam kelas. Selain itu peserta didik kurang antusias terhadap pembelajaran PKn, dikarenakan guru lebih sering menggunakan metode ceramah. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, salah satu alternatif peningkatan keberanian berpendapat siswa pada pembelajaran PKn adalah dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe talking chips. Untuk melaksanakan penelitian ini, maka digunakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah, wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Talking chips dilaksanakan selama tiga siklus dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil Penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa keberanian berpendapat siswa mengalami peningkatan setelah menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe talking chips pada setiap siklusnya. Keberanian berpendapat siswa yang mengalami peningkatan adalah rasa percaya diri, keterampilan dalam bertanya, menjawab pertanyaan, keterampilan berargumentasi, kemampuan mengambil kesimpulan, dan mampu menolak dan menyatakan ketidaksetujuan dengan mengengungkapkan alasannya ketika berbeda pendapat. ;---The student’s courage in giving opinion on Civic Education Learning in Class VIII-C SMP Kartika XIX-2 Bandung is still low shown by low courage in asking, answering questions, and expressing their opinion in the classroom. Beside that, students are less enthusiastic about Civic Education learning, because teacher more often use the lecturing method. Based on these problems, one of the alternatives to improve the student’s courage in giving opinion on Civic Education learning is to implement cooperative learning model which is talking chips type. To conduct this research, researcher use classroom action research. Data collection techniques used are interview, observation, and documentation study. The implementation of learning using Talking chips type cooperative learning model was carried out for three cycles by using qualitative approach. The results reveal that the students courage in giving opinion have improved after using talking chips type cooperative learning model in each cycle. The students courage in giving opinion who has increased which are shown in their confidence asking question ability, answering question ability, arguing ability, making a conclusion, and being able to reject and express disagreement by expressing the reasons when they have different opinions.
