Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa SMP kelas IX pada materi Barisan dan Deret Aritmetika. Terkait permasalahan tersebut, perlu dirancang suatu alternatif pembelajaran yang dapat mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Salah satunya adalah mendesain situasi pembelajaran berbasis aktivitas penalaran dengan mempertimbangkan learning obstacle, learning trajectory, dan respons siswa yang diramu dalam suatu desain didaktis. Pendesainan situasi pembelajaran yang dimaksud dilakukan melalui sebuah penelitian. Penelitian yang digunakan menggunakan tahapan Didactical Design Research (DDR), yaitu: 1) analisis prospektif, 2) analisis metapedadidaktik, dan 3) analisis retrospektif. Analisis retrospektif dilakukan untuk mengetahui learning obstacle yang muncul pada materi Barisan dan Deret Aritmetika. Berdasarkan hasil analisis terhadap learning obstacle tersebut, kemudian disusun alur belajar hipotetis sebagai acuan merancang desain didaktis hipotetis yang selanjutnya diimplementasikan di kelas IX salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Propinsi Riau. Hasil analisis terhadap implementasi desain didaktis hipotetis berikutnya digunakan untuk merancang desain didaktis empiris. Desain didaktis empiris yang telah dirancang, selanjutnya dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran materi Barisan dan Deret Aritmetika atau dapat dijadikan sebagai desain hipotetis bagi penelitian selanjutnya. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa implementasi desain didaktis hipotetis dapat meminimalkan learning obstacle yang dialami oleh siswa. Selain itu, kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa pada setiap situasi pembelajaran yang diberikan berkembang dengan baik, yang ditandai dengan siswa mampu membuat generalisasi pada setiap akhir desain didaktis. Berkaitan dengan hasil tersebut, siswa juga memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap desain didaktis yang dirancang. ;--- This study was motivated by the lack of mathematical reasoning ability of student grade 9th Junior High School (SMP) on concepts of Sequences and Series Arithmetic. Related to these problem, we need to design a learning alternative that can develop students’ mathematical reasoning abilities. One way is to provide situated with reasoning activities based by considering learning obstacle, learning trajectory, and student’s responses in form a didactic design. Development of learning activity be done through a study. The study used the stages of Didactical Design Research (DDR), that is: 1) prospective analysis, 2) metapedadidaktik analysis, and 3) retrospective analysis. A retrospective analysis is conducted to identify learning obstacle that appears on Sequences and Series Arithmetic. Based on the analysis of learning obstacle, then compiled a hypothetical learning trajectory as a reference for designing a hypothetical didactic design, next implemented in grade 9th one of SMP in Reteh District, Riau Province. Analysis of the implementation hypothetical didactic design was used to design the empirical didactic, which was used as an alternative to learn Sequences and Series Arithmetic. This study revealed that the implementation of the hypothetical didactic design could minimize learning obstacle experienced by the students. In addition, mathematical reasoning abilities of student in each given situated learning was well developed, characterized by the students were able to generalize at the end of didactic design. Related to the result, students also responded positively to the designed didactic design.
