Abstract
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara determinasi diri dengan future time perspective pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Desain penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling dan jumlah sampel yang diambil adalah 380 orang. Data diperoleh dengan mengadaptasi dan memodifikasi instrumen Basic Need Satisfaction Scale (BNSS) yang disusun oleh Ryan dan Deci, dan instrumen Future Time Perspective Scale (FTPS) yang disusun oleh Husman dan Shell. Hasil penelitian berupa hasil uji korelasi antara determinasi diri dengan future time perspective menunjukkan bahwa determinasi diri memiliki korelasi positif dengan future time perspective, sehingga semakin tinggi determinasi diri mahasiswa tingkat akhir semakin tinggi pula future time perspective yang dimilikinya. Tingkat signifikansi korelasi adalah 0,407 (>0,05), menunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara determinasi diri dengan future time perspective pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir cukup signifikan. Kata kunci: determinasi diri, future time perspective, mahasiswa tingkat akhir The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between self-determination and future time perspective on final-year students in Indonesia University of Education. The design of this research is quantitative with correlational method. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling and the number of samples taken is 380 people. Data were obtained by modifying a Basic Need Satisfaction Scale (BNSS) instrument proposed by Ryan and Deci, and Future Time Perspective Scale (FTPS) instrument proposed by Husman and Shell. Result of this research is correlation between self-determination and future time perspective showed that self-determination had positive correlation with future time perspective, which then explains, the higher the self-determination, the higher also the future time perspective for final-year students university. Correlation acquired in this research is 0.407 which is higher than 0.05. Therefore, the relationship between the two variables is significant.
