Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan Self Efficacy siswa. Namun, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan Self Efficacy siswa pada kenyataannya masih rendah. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan Self Efficacy siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan Pendekatan Saintifik lebih baik daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan Pembelajaran Langsung. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Subjek penelitian (sampel) adalah siswa kelas V pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017 di salah satu Sekolah Dasar Negeri di Kabupaten Cirebon. Data penelitian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dikumpulkan menggunakan instrumen tes, sedangkan data Self Efficacy dikumpulkan menggunakan angket skala sikap, observasi, dan wawancara. Analisis statistik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah statistik parametrik dengan independent sample t-test dan non parametrik dengan uji Mann Whitney. Data hasil observasi dan wawancara digunakan untuk mengkonfirmasi data angket skala sikap. Hasil dari penelitian dan pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan Self Efficacy siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan Pendekatan Saintifik lebih baik daripada siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan Pembelajaran Langsung pada pokok bahasan bangun datar.;---The research was based on the importance of mathematical problem solving skills and Self Efficacy of the students. However, mathematical problem solving skills and Self Efficacy of the students in fact are still low. The purpose of this research is to describe the improvement of mathematical problem solving skills and Self Efficacy of students through Scientific Approach is better than students through Direct Instruction. The research method used is quasi experimental with nonequivalent control group design design. Research subject (sample) is fifth grade in the academic year 2016/2017 in one of elementary school in Cirebon. Research data of mathematical problem solving skills is collected using test instrument, whereas Self Efficacy use questionnaire of attitude scale, observation, and interview. Statistical analysis used in this study was parametric statistics with independent sample t-test and nonparametric with Mann Whitney test. Observation and interview data were used to confirm the questionnaire of attitude scale. The result of hypothesis research and test show that the improvement in mathematical problem solving skills and Self Efficacy of students who are engaged in Scientific Approach is better than the students who are engaged in learning with Direct Instruction on the plane subject.
