Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya aktivitas belajar siswa dalam
pembelajaran. Kurangnya aktivitas belajar siswa dikarenakan cara mengajar guru yang
konvensional dan belum menerapkan pendekatan saintifik, sehingga siswa menjadi bosan
dan mengantuk pada saat proses pembelajaran. Pendekatan saintifik diterapkan dalam
kurikulum 2013, dapat menjadi solusi untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa.
Pendekatan saintifik terdiri atas 5 pengalaman belajar yaitu mengamati, menanya,
mencoba/mengumpulkan informasi, menalar/mengasosiasi, dan mengomunikasikan.
Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pembelajaran
dengan penerapan pendekatan saintifik untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar
siswa, dan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dengan
penerapan pendekatan saintifik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian
tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan model Kemmis dan MC. Taggart dengan dua siklus yang
terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi serta refleksi. Tekhnik pengolahan data
yang diterapkan adalah analisis data kualitatif dan analisis kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian
yang diperoleh yaitu pada tindakan siklus I mencapai 56,47%, sedangkan pada tindakan
siklus II meningkat sebesar 39,82% yaitu mencapai 96,29%. Hasil penelitian,
menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan pendekatan saintifik pada saat proses pembelajaran
dan peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa dengan menerapkan pendekatan saintifik.
Berdasarkan temuan-temuan yang didapat dari penelitian ini, maka di rekomendasikan
kepada guru untuk menerapkan pendekatan saintifik sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran
yang mampu meningkatkan aktivitas belajar siswa.----------This research is motivated by the lack of learning activities of students in
learning. The lack of student learning activities is due to the conventional teaching of
teachers and has not yet applied a scientific approach. So students become bored and
sleepy during learning. Though scientific approach applied in the curriculum 2013 can
be a solution to improve student learning activities. The scientific approach consists of
observing, asking, trying / gathering information, reasoning / associating, and
communicating. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of learning
with the application of scientific approach to improve student learning activities, and to
describe the increase in student learning activities with the application of scientific
approach. This research is a classroom action research (PTK) with Kemmis and MC
model. Taggart with two cycles consisting of planning, execution, observation and
reflection. Data processing techniques applied are qualitative data analysis and
quantitative analysis. The result of the research showed that in the first cycle reached
56.47%, while in the second cycle increased by 39.82% to 96.29%. The results of
research, shows that the implementation of scientific approach at the time of learning
process and increase student learning activities by applying scientific approach. Based
on the findings obtained from this study, it is recommended to teachers to apply scientific
approach as a learning approach that can increase student learning activities.
