Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan siswa kelas X IPS SMAN 1 Cimalaka dalam memecahkan masalah menjadi latar belakang dilaksanakannya penelitian ini. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode problem solving dan problem posing terhadap kemampuan siswa dalam memecahkan masalah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu kuasi eksperimen dengan counterbalanced design. Subjek terdiri dari tiga kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen I, eksperimen II, dan eksperimen III. Setiap kelasnya diberikan perlakuan berupa metode problem solving, problem posing dan ceramah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes tertulis dalam bentuk soal uraian. Uji hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (i) Pada perlakuan I dengan metode problem solving nilai rata-rata yang paling tinggi sebesar 93, (ii) Pada perlakuan II dengan metode problem solving nilai rata-rata yang paling tinggi sebesar 86, (iii) Pada perlakuan III dengan metode problem solving nilai rata-rata yang paling tinggi sebesar 87. ;---The low ability of students of class X IPS SMAN 1 Cimalaka in solving the problem becomes the background of this research. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of problem solving method and problem posing on student ability in solving problems. The research method used is quasi experiment with counterbalanced design. Subjects consist of three classes: experimental class I, experiment II, and experiment III. Each class is given treatment in the form of problem solving method, problem posing and lecture. Technique of data collection is done by written test in the form of description problem. Hypothesis test is done by t test. The results showed that: (i) In treatment I with problem solving method the highest average value of 93, (ii) In treatment II with problem solving method the highest average value of 86, (iii) In treatment III with problem solving method the highest average value of 87.
