Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar menggunakan multimodus representasi untuk pembelajaran fisika berorientasi pada kemampuan kognitif dan pembekalan keterampilan berpikir kritis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D). Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 54 siswa kelas XI dari salah satu SMA di kota Bandung yang terbagi menjadi 28 siswa di kelas eksperimen dan 26 siswa di kelas kontrol. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan untuk menganalisis hasil uji kualitas dan uji keterpahaman yaitu dengan menggunakan persentase skor yang diperoleh, sedangkan untuk uji kemampuan kognitif dan uji keterampilan berpikir kritis dianalisis dengan menghitung N-gain, uji statistik dan uji ukuran dampak. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hasil uji kualitas 83% sesuai dan hasil uji keterpahaman 90% siswa dapat memahami buku ajar yang dikembangkan, sehingga buku ajar ini berkategori layak. Peningkatan kemampuan kognitif memiliki N-gain sebesar 0,67 dan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa memiliki N-gain sebesar 0,48 dengan keduanya berkategori sedang. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara peningkatan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa yang menggunakan buku ajar yang dikembangkan dan siswa yang menggunakan buku ajar yang digunakan di sekolah. Hasil ukuran dampak kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan berpikir kritis secara berturut-turut diperoleh 1,66 dan 1,63 dengan kategori tinggi. Selain itu, hubungan antara kemampuan kognitif dengan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa sangat signifikan, dengan penilaian korelasi sebesar 0,958 berkategori sangat kuat. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah buku ajar menggunakan multimodus representasi efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMA.;--- This research aims to develop cognitive ability and critical thinking skills oriented textbook using multimodal representation for physics learning in secondary highschool. Through the design research and development (R&D). The study sample consisted of 54 students of class XI of one high school in the city is divided into 28 students in the experimental class and 26 students in the control class. The data analysis technique used to analyze the quality test and the comprehensible test is by using a percentage score obtained, whereas to cognitive test and critical thinking skills test were analyzed by calculating the N-gain, statistical tests and effect size. The results showed 83% quality test and 90% comprehensible test, so that the textbook is categorized feasible. Increased cognitive abilities have N-gain of 0.67 and critical thinking skills have N-gain of 0.48 with both moderate category. Hypothesis test results indicate that there are significant differences for cognitive ability and critical thinking skills between students who use textbooks developed and students who use textbooks used in the schools. The results measure the impact of cognitive ability and critical thinking skills successively obtained 1.66 and 1.63 with the high category. In addition, the relationship between cognitive abilities with critical thinking skills are very significant, with a correlation of 0.958 that the category is very strong. The conclusion of this study is the textbook using multimodal representation effective in improving cognitive ability and critical thinking skills of high school students.
