Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh profil model mental siswa pada submateri kenaikan titik didih sebagai sifat koligatif larutan berdasarkan Tes Diagnostik Model Mental Interview About Event (TDM-IAE). Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kota Bandung terhadap enam orang siswa kelas XII IPA yang mewakili kelompok siswa berkemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah sebagai subjek penelitian. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan instrumen penelitian berupa Tes Diagnostik Model Mental Interview About Event (TDM-IAE). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada saat menjelaskan konsep titik didih siswa 1, 2, 4, dan 5 dapat menjawab benar dengan pertanyaan probing, sedangkan siswa 3 dan 6 dapat menjawab benar sebagian dengan pertanyaan probing. Pada saat menjelaskan konsep kenaikan titik didih larutan nonelektrolit dan elektrolit, seluruh siswa dapat menjawab benar sebagian dengan pertanyaan probing, dan pada saat analisis konsep kenaikan titik didih larutan nonelektrolit dan elektrolit sebagai sifat koligatif larutan, siswa 1 dapat menjawab benar dengan pertanyaan probing, sedangkan siswa 2, 3, 4, 5, dan 6 menjawab benar sebagian dengan pertanyaan probing. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa seluruh siswa memiliki pemahaman parsial pada submateri kenaikan titik didih sebagai sifat koligatif larutan.;--- The aim of this study was to explore students’ mental models in sub matter of Elevation of Boiling Point as the Solution Colligative Properties using a Interview About Event mental models diagnostic test (TDM-IAE). The subject of this study are six 12th grade high school students in Bandung with high, moderate, and low skill understanding. The method of this study is descriptive qualitative using a instruments of Interview About Event (TDM-IAE) mental models diagnostic test. The results showed that students 1, 2, 4, and 5 were able to give the right answer with the probing questions of explanation of boiling point, then students 3 and 6 were able to give the partial right answer with the probing questions. All students were able to give the partial right answer with the probing questions of analysed boiling point of the nonelectrolite and electrolite solution as the solution colligative properties. Student 1 were able to give the right answer with the probing questions of analysed boiling point of the nonelectrolite and electrolite solution as the solution colligative properties, then students 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 were able to give the partial right answer with the probing questions. This results showed that all students’ had a partial understanding of elevation of boiling point as the solution colligative properties.
