Abstract

Fenomena yang terjadi dalam bidang pendidikan di sekolah menengah atas adalah rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan metode Think-Pair-Share dan metode Group Investigation. Jenis penelitian adalah studi kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian non-equivalen pretest postest design. Subjek penelitian yaitu kelas XI IPS 3 dan XI IPS 4 di SMA Negeri 3 Metro. Analisis data menggunakan SPSS Versi 22 dengan pengujian hipotesis melalui statistik parametrik, uji perbedaan rata-rata (paired samples t-test dan independent samples t-test), dan effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan penerapan metode Think-Pair-Share, 2) terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran dengan penerapan metode Group Investigation, 3) terdapat perbedaan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa antara kelas yang menerapkan metode Think-Pair-Share dengan kelas yang menggunakan metode Group Investigasi serta kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada kelas yang menggunakan metode Think-Pair-Share lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan serta kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada kelas yang menggunakan metode Group Investigation.;--- A phenomenon that occurs in the field of education in high school is the lack of critical thinking skills of students. The aim of research to find out the differences increase students' thinking skills before and after using the Think-Pair-Share and Group Investigation methods. This type of research is the study of quasi-experimental research design non-equivalent pretest posttest design. The research subject is class XI IPS 3 and XI IPS 4 in SMA Negeri 3 Metro. Data analysis using SPSS version 22 with parametric statistical hypothesis testing through, test the average difference (paired samples t-test and independent samples t-test), and the effect size. The results showed that 1) there are differences in critical thinking skills of students before and after learning with the adoption of Think-Pair-Share, 2) there are differences in critical thinking skills of students before and after learning with the adoption of Group Investigation, 3) there are differences increased ability to think critical students between classes that implement methods think-Pair-Share with the class using Group Investigation and critical thinking skills of students in the classes using methods think-Pair-Share is higher compared with as well as critical thinking skills of students in the classes using methods Group Investigation.
