Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi bahwa lulusan perguruan tinggi kejuruan- LPTK belum memiliki kompetensi kejuruan sesuai dengan tuntutan dunia kerja, terutama dalam praktik kejuruan untuk mengajar di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. Praktik Industri (PI) merupakan wahana untuk mahasiswa memiliki kompetensi kejuruan yang sesuai dengan tuntutan dunia usaha/dunia industri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat pola pelaksanaan PI mahasiswa program study Pendidikan Teknik Elektro (PTE) Departemen Pendidikan Teknik Elektro (DPTE) Fakultas Pendidikan Teknologi dan Kejuruan (FPTK) Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) agar kegiatan PI mahasiswa dapat berjalan maksimal dan memberikan hasil yang memadai untuk bekal kompetensi kejuruannya sebelum bekerja sebagai tenaga pendidik dalam bidang kejuruan di SMK. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Riset dan Pengembangan (Research and Development, R&D). Penelitian di lakukan di DPTE FPTK UPI dan di industri, yaitu PT. Dirgantara Indonesia (DI), Tbk., PT. Inti, Tbk., dan PT. Pindad, Tbk. Pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Data tersebut dianalisis secara deskriptif, yang mana diungkap bahwa program praktik industri, fasilitas penunjang kegiatan PI, kegiatan/pelaksanaan PI, dan kompetensi kejuruan yang telah dicapai mahasiswa sejauh ini belum berjalan dan memperoleh hasil yang cukup/ memadai sesuai dengan tuntutan dunia kerja. Untuk itu dalam penelitian ini disusun desain pola PI yang dapat memaksimalkan program PI, fasilitas yang ada di lab DPTE dan industri yang dapat digunakan untuk kegiatan praktik mahasiswa, serta pelaksanaan/ kegiatan PI sehingga dapat menghasilkan kompetensi kejuruan mahasiswa untuk siap bekerja sebagai tenaga pendidik kejuruan profesional sesuai bidang keahliannya. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini, ialah: - bahwa sarana praktik yang tersedia di lab DPTE belum memadai; - keberadaan peralatan di industri dapat dimanfaatkan dalam kegiatan PI untuk meningkatkan kompetensi kejuruan mahasiswa; - pola PI yang melibatkan Pendidikan Tinggi (PT) dan DU/DI yang diikat oleh MoU melalui kemitraan (partnership). ; This research backgrounded that graduates of vocational teacher education (VTE) haven’t yet had adequate vocational competence according to demand the world of work, primarily within vocational practice to teach in TVET (Technical Vocational Education and Training). Industry practice (IP) constitutes vehicle for students in order to have vocational competence according to the need the world of industry and ventures. This research aims to make the implementation pattern of industry practice (IP) for study program of Electrical Technical Education (PTE), Department of Electro Engineering Education (DPTE), Faculty of Vocational and Technology Education (FPTK) , Indonesia University of Education (UPI) in order that the implementation of PI can run maximally and provide good result for student’s vocational competence before teaching in TVET (SMK). Method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D). This research done in PTE DPTE FPTK UPI and some industries namely: PT. Dirgantara Indonesia (DI), Tbk., PT. Inti, Tbk., dan PT. Pindad, Tbk. Data was collected using questionnaire, interview, documentation, and observation. The data analyzed using descriptive analysis, in which found that industry practice (IP) program, facilities for IP’s activity, the activity of IP, and vocational competence have been accomplished so far by students haven’t yet well run and got enough/ adequate according to demand the world of work. Therefore through this research drawn up the design of an industry practical pattern that can maximize IP program, the existence of practical facility in electro laboratory, and the equipment in industry that can be used for student practical activity, and also the implementation of IP so that can generate student's vocational competence ready to work as professional TVET teachers according to their proficiency. Findings found through this research namely: - infrastructure for practice in DPTE's Lab hasn't yet good enough; - equipments in industry can be used by students to enhance student's vocational competence; - IP pattern that involves higher education and the world of industry/venture that are bound by MoU through partnership.
