Abstract
Video yang menyajikan fakta seperti ilmu pengetahuan dan pendidikan termasuk video dokumenter. Selain untuk memberikan informasi dan edukasi, video dokumenter juga memiliki fungsi untuk mendokumentasikan suatu kejadian yang sebenarnya. Ide gagasan yang penulis buat dalam karya video dokumenter ini yaitu dengan melihat rangkaian proses pembuatan batik yang cukup rumit. Penulis kemudian mengaitkan rangkaian proses pembuatan batik yang dilihat dengan beberapa referensi video yang mendokumentasikan rangkaian proses pembuatan karya seni lainnya. Permasalahan tersebut penulis rumuskan menjadi tiga rumusan masalah yakni meliputi: pengembangan gagasan, proses pembuatan dan visualisasi karya. Selanjutnya dilakukan proses penciptaan yang terdiri dari tiga tahapan yakni: pra produksi, produksi dan pasca produksi. Dalam memvisualisasikan video dokumenter ini, penulis mendeskripsikan bentuk visual video yang berupa bumper, potongan video, Caption, Subtitle, Credit Title, serta audio. Dengan hasil video ini diharapkan dapat mengangkat nilai dari sebuah karya tradisional khususnya batik.;---This video is considered a medium of information which is easily accepted among people since it is available both in audio and visual dimensions. Video also therefore, it also serves as a medium of education and knowledge considering it can help people in remembering the information in cheaper more effective ways. The video, containing facts such as educational topics and knowledge is called documentary video. Besides its function to give information, documentary video serves also in documenting a certain events. Furthermore, the writer is inspired by the process of making Batik which is quite complex. Therefore, documenting the process of making Batik would be an interesting subject to analyze. The writer then develops theoretical and empirical investigations which later can decide whether this study is relevant in the art subject. In visualizing the documentary video, the writer develops three steps which are: the prologue, the process of making Batik and the final presentation.
